Don't be surprise to see Kordell Stewart put up good stats even though I predicted DA BEARS to finish last in the division because is an odd year which should lead to Kordell having a good season according to Kordell year by years stats. If that were to occur it could change the standings in the North.AFC south is a real tough division to predict right now even though Tennessee had a successful season last year but I see the Division up for grabs.Another Division that is up for grab is the NFC South which is in my opinion the toughest division in football right now follow by AFC East.

Minus KORDELL STEWART is AWFUL.

The Bears did the Packers a favor. He will be pathetic.

And Minus why don't you want to put money on the Packers/Fins anymore? Just cuz I'm a kid?

Heres my predictions...

AFC East

New England Patriots 11-5*

Miami Dolphins 9-7

Buffalo Bills 7-9

New York Jets 7-9

I'm not a fan Kordell either and I think Bears made the wrong desicion to sign him but for some reason Kordell has a good season on odd years so he just might.

Anyone who thinks Miami will be 11-5 is ludacris.

10-6 max for Miami. 9-7 probability. You guys just can't put together a full season without collapsing at the beiginning or end of the year.

And am I the ONLY ONE bold enough to take a Super Bowl pick? And a playoff pick?

umm that why the Miami Dolphins are the favorites to win the AFC and not to mention only behind Tampa Bay to win it all... I'm sorry but NOBODY, not here nor ANYWHERE else can agree with you Phlub. Fopr one, you said we can't help but collapse at the beginning or the end of the year? We usually are better than any other team in the NFL at the beginning for the first 6 games. Remember how we went 5-1 last year (with a healthy Fiedler)?

I think it's absolutely rediculous to believe Miami WON'T go at least 11-5. 2001 we went 11-5, same goes for 2000, and like I've said, that was with MUCH less talent. There is no team in the AFC that can be considered better than Miami right now, seeing that no one has yet played a game. You couldn't argue this point to John Clayton, Chris Berman, ect.! Phlub, I don't see HOW IN THE WORLD Miami can't be considered by you to be more than 10-6 "at the most". Please explain to me while I go find John Clayton's Dolphins preview.

2002 RECORD: 9-7

TEAM RANK (NFL): Defense (3rd); Offense (15th)

ADDITIONS:

Free agents -- LB Junior Seau (Chargers), WR Derrius Thompson (Redskins), CB Terrell Buckley (Patriots), TE Marco Battaglia (Steelers), DT Jeff Zgonina (Rams), KR Charlie Rogers (Bills), S Sammy Knight (Saints).

Draft picks -- No first-rounder. 2. OLB Eddie Moore (Tennessee); 3a. OT Wade Smith (Memphis); 3b. OG Taylor Whitley (Texas A&M); 5a. TE Donald Lee (Mississippi St.); 5b. WR J.R. Tolver (San Diego St.); 6a. Corey Jenkins (South Carolina); 6b. OT Tim Provost (San Jose St.); 6c. CB Yeremiah Bell (Eastern Kentucky); 7. DT Davern Williams (Troy St.).

SUBTRACTIONS:

WR Dedric Ward (Pats), LB Twan Russell (Falcons), OG Jim Bundren (released), OG James Wagstaff (released), WR Joey Getherall (released), CB Ray Green (Giants), WR Albert Johnson (Jets), TE Desmond Clark (Bears), TE Jed Weaver (49ers), OT David Sherrod (released), DT Jermaine Haley (Redskins), QB Ray Lucas (released), LB Derrick Rodgers (Saints).

Let's get this straight. The Dolphins had the league's leading rusher (Ricky Williams), top sack man (Jason Taylor) and most prolific tackler (Zach Thomas) last year, but still missed the playoffs? How exactly does that happen?

Talent certainly isn't an issue in Miami. The aforementioned stars were just three of six Dolphins to make last year's Pro Bowl. And with the additions of perennial Pro Bowl linebacker Junior Seau and safety Sammy Knight, the 2003 squad will be deeper. Yet, the Dolphins are coming off a season in which they failed to crack 10 victories.

Right or wrong, the pressure will be on head coach Dave Wannstedt this season. He's won just one playoff game since taking over for Jimmy Johnson in 2000 and has not figured out the team's disturbing trend of falling flat down the stretch. In fact, his play-calling contributed to last year's collapse considering his team had a 11-point fourth-quarter lead in the season finale at New England and he shied away from utilizing Williams, an 1,800-yard rusher. Another early playoff exit or worse could put an end to his tenure with the Dolphins.

What they've added?

Miami must be taking a page from the championship books of Baltimore, New England and Tampa Bay -- stock up on defensive talent and gamble that you have just enough offense to capture the Lombardi Trophy.

The Dolphins added depth at linebacker by signing Seau, who missed three games last year with an ankle injury but still plays with a lot of passion. They've also loaded up in the secondary by acquiring Knight. Add defensive tackle Jeff Zgonina as Jermaine Haley's replacement and you have a defense talented enough to improve on last year's No. 3 ranking.

The biggest and most anticipated addition Brian Griese, son of former Dolphins quarterback Bob. The Dolphins not only get their most talented backup for Jay Fiedler, but a potential starter who has posted Pro Bowl numbers in the past.

In addition, the Dolphins have tried to provide more security for Fiedler, drafting three linemen (tackles Wade Smith and Tim Provost, and guard Taylor Whitley), signing tight end Marco Battaglia and drafting another one (Donald Lee). Special teams should also get a boost with the signing of returner Charlie Rogers.

What they're missing?

At this point, not much. They released backup quarterback Ray Lucas, but Griese's arrival will solve that problem. And the additions up front should keep the line play solid. But if there is an offensive concern, it's at wide receiver.

Chris Chambers, who was sidelined a couple of games last year, is undoubtedly their No. 1 option. However, the releasing of Dedric Ward and expected departure of Oronde Gadsden means that James McKnight and newcomer Derrius Thompson will compete for the other starting job.

Defensively, they're set. They have balance up front, at linebacker and in the secondary. In fact, they're so deep in spots that linebacker Derrick Rodgers was traded to New Orleans.

What it all means?

Who knows? The Dolphins look great on paper and generally even better during the season's first two months. But then, they suffer that ugly loss to the Jets or Bills, get bit by the injury bug and see things unravel in November and December. Based on the schedule, it's not far-fetched for a repeat of the "quick start, bad finish" routine.

Three of their first five games are on the road at Jacksonville and home contests against Houston and Buffalo. But in December, they travel to New England and Buffalo, and play host to the Jets and Eagles. Even if they look like a sure-bet playoff team late in November, fans and perhaps players will hold their breath until a berth is secured.

All that said, the Dolphins should make the postseason. Until last year, they were a perennial playoff team and were actually eyeing the AFC's top seed after beating Oakland in Week 15. But unlike 1972 when Don Shula led Miami to the "perfect season," the NFL regular season campaign is now 16 games -- not 14. The Dolphins easily have enough talent to win it all ? but they have to make the playoffs first.[/b]

I thought this was writen by John Clayton, but no. Someone from ESPN.com.

Anyways, this was writen before we re-signed Orande Gadsden, so now what was considered our biggest and only weakness is now not a weakness at all.

its pretty dumn/arrogant to say the dolphins will only go 9-7.......i could elobarte but im lazy.........anyway...they will make the playoffs and atleast the AFC championship game, *knocks on wood*

Rune why no love for my Skins?

You can't win a championship with old tired bought players.

That team is not a good team with The Jets players or without them.

You can't win a championship with old tired bought players.

That team is not a good team with The Jets players or without them.

Who is old? Armstead and Bruce Smith? Wow 2 damn players and Armstead is not even that old. Our only question mark is RB and the D-Line.

Explain to me how if they are SO good, how they continue to be in the s*** hole every year. Continuing to add players without ever thinking about ditching some of their former contracts.

Coles is good but I guarantee you he will not produce outside of Jersey.

But of course like so many you can never tell them that their team is not that great. Until of course their being destroyed during the season.

I said 10-6 is best. 9-7 is probable. I wouldn't be shocked at 9-7.

But Wild Card, your the arrogant and stupid one in this case (as i believe you called me before)

The Dolphins are ALWAYS picked to win the AFC. The past 3 years the Dolphins were usually the favorties to win the AFC. And they ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS COLLAPSE.

John Clayton is not a good football analyst, he is good at evaluating personell and getting the inside scoop on rumors. Read from people who know football. Some of the few yet the proud. Tom Jackson, Steve Young, to name a few.

Both have said Miami is ALWAYS favored. They always look like champions going into the season with their rosters. And they always start off 6-2, 7-1, and always end up 9-7 through 11-5. When they look like at the beginning of the year that they will be 12-4, 13-3, 14-2.

And they will look awesome the first 3/4 of the season. And WC and Minus you'll be saying "we told you so Phlub." But then comes a month on the calendar most people call December. For Miami that month is usually the month written on their tombstone. LATE SEASON COLLAPSES.

You guys aren't winning the division, your not going to win the AFC, and your sure as hell not gonna win the Super Bowl, with Dave Wannstedt as your head coach. Not a chance.

You guys just don't get it! I saw Wannstedt for years at Packers/Bears games and he just SUCKS. He is one of the 5 worst coaches in football. His players are unprepared, under coached, underachievers. If you guys had truly good coach like say Jimmy Johnson even. You guys would be locks for the division. And AFC Title Contenders. But the AFC is like the NBA East, whoever comes out of it, will always lose to the NFC or NBA West.

The sole reason you guys will be a 5 or 6 seed in the playoffs is Wannstedt. Wild Card maybe you and the others havent noticed, and I'm not trying to toot my horn, but everyone whose seen my knowledge of football says I should be working on ESPN at my age. I'm sorry. But I know more about football then I do anything else.

Anyways the Fins are due for a late season collapse. Beacuse Wannstedt's such a sh*tty coach. Sorry.

Damn I was going to post a pretty long thing on the Skins but when I clicked on add reply it took too long and did't get posted. Well I will try to post it later on. It took me about 25 min to write :banghead

Coles is good but I guarantee you he will not produce outside of Jersey.

I'll make a bet that Coles get's at least a 1,000 yard season as long as he stays healthy.

I said 10-6 is best. 9-7 is probable. I wouldn't be shocked at 9-7.

Again, if you had read correctly, I said that pre-season preview was NOT writen by John Clayton. And if he is such a bad analysis, why is he at ESPN?

I don't see us not winning the division with the depth we have this season... We had no depth last year...

If you guys had truly good coach like say Jimmy Johnson even. You guys would be locks for the division. And AFC Title Contenders. But the AFC is like the NBA East, whoever comes out of it, will always lose to the NFC or NBA West.

Because Jimmy Johnson got us to the Super Bowl SOO many times. Wanny has gotten us better records than JJ ever did. And I think you need to keep in mind, Dave also has one of the top 5 winning percentages of any coach over the past three years. And as I recall, the AFC has won the SB 2 of the last 3 years. So it's obviously NOT EVEN CLOSE to the NBA with the East against the West.

Anyways the Fins are due for a late season collapse. Beacuse Wannstedt's such a sh*tty coach. Sorry.

We're due for a late season collapse? How are we "due" for one if it's happened every year for six years? If anything, after putting together what is probably the best looking roster for the moment of any other team in the NFL, Miami is due for that big season.

- Look where paper champions gets the Redskins every year (no offense Slap).

- Nothing you will say will change my mind about Wannstedt. He is a conservative offensive coach. He is an awful coach at that. Jimmy Johnson won 2 more Super Bowls then Wannstedts ever been too.

- Depth? Jay Fiedler will be a good backup. Junior Seau will be this years Hardy Nickerson. You guys won't believe me until January. You guys are 10-6 if you have a great season. If you guys are gonna be contenders you'll be 11-5. But 11-5 is how to say--- 11-5 is if you guys have the best season you can and maximize your talent to the max.

And I know most people agree with me. You 2 are getting your Dolphins pride in the way of sensible thinking. And I guaruntee you guys that, Griese isn't the savior you sometimes make him out to be. And that Seau will be this years Hardy Nickerson. And finally that you guys will be dissappointed by a team that will be 9-7/10-6. There IS NO CHANCE THE DOLPHINS WILL HAVE THE BEST RECORD IN FOOTBALL. None. You guys will NOT have the best record in football. No chance at all. Paper champions you seem to make a big deal out of Wild Card, yet you forget what happened to the Redskins, Last Years Rams, Last Years Packers. Wannstedt will be your demise. You guys have 11-5 talent. And a 5-11 coach. Together that equals 9-7 or 10-6. You guys just won't let your pride get out of the way.

I may be a Green Bay fan, but I'm also a realist. The Pack could be anywhere from 10-6 to 12-4. I'm guessing 11-5 is the probability in this scenario. But at least the Packers have a more legitimate shot at 12-4 then the Dolphins ever will with Wannstedt.

Guys I'm so confident that I'm right and you guys are wrong I will make any bet you 2 want. I don't care. Cuz I'll prove you guys wrong.

We don't have 11-5 talent.

We have 14-2 talent.

If we can get the MAX out of that talent, we'll be 14-2. I don't think you realize just how talented the Dolphins team is. Go up and down the roster. Look at the names, and the stats of the no-names. You are insane. Miami has more talent than any team in football, undoubtedly. Miami has just as muc depth at any position than any other team. You need to realize just how good this team they have put together is. Remember how the Bucs were JUST like Miami, full of late-season collpases? See what they did when they added to that already extreamely talented team? The overcame it all with their new found defensive depth, and won in December/January because the defense was such a powerhouse and had so much DEPTH that they could hold off offenses throughout the whole game. Like the preview said, Miami's defense added amazing talent to what was already the 3rd best Defense in the game.

Wild Card put your pride away kid. Jesus its gets annoying. You really don't get it do you?

You just dont.

You guys don't have 14-2! Now I will say this with confidence you are the most unintelligent football fan I have ever met.

If you guys go 14-2 the Dinosaurs will come out of the ground and roam the Earth again.

This is rediculous. You guys are NOTHING like the Bucs. The Bucs had EARLY SEASON FALTERS quite the opposite. The Bucs are unbeatable and have been for the past 4 years or so in the second half of the season. Wow! Where did you get that stat?

Wild Card your just too ignorant to the fact that Miami isn't as good as you think. Anyone who knows football and can objectively look at a team knows Miami doesnt even have the best looking roster in football. I'm sorry Wild Card but your just being so bone stupid. You have so much pride and loyalty you can't face the facts.

It looks like you guys will put together a good season. On paper. But how do you guys wind up 9-7 or 10-6? Gee I wonder....

- Wannstedt

- December

You guys will start off red hot out of the gates. And will fizzle down the stretch. Period. Wild Card please put your blind, dreaming pride away. Because its really starting to get annoying. You just don't get it kid. You guys won't be that good.

Come January you'll see that I was I right and you and minus were dead wrong. I know I sound like an a$$hole. But thats too bad. Because this is redicuolous.

14-2 talent? Yeah if you guys have 14-2 talent the Cinncinatti Bengals will be undefeated. :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

Wild Card I'm looking at your roster right now. Its an 11-5 patchwork roster. Its good but not as good as you think it is.
