Posted March 25, 200519 yr WOW!! What a performance by Dontrelle tonight. Seven scoreless innings with 8 K's and only 3 hits allowed. The Astros played both Bagwell and Biggio so it wasn't against all minor leaguers. The best part of the game was D-Train's hitting as he ripped a double and a single, drove in a run and scored two runs. One of these on a HEADFIRST SLIDE into home. Someone needs to talk to him about that. After seeing Beckett monday and Dontrelle tonight it looks solid for the first 2 of the 5 man rotation. I even talked to Jorgy tonight what a great night all around.
March 25, 200519 yr yea, i almost crapped myself when i saw that slide on the news highlights. not only did he slide headfirst into home, but it looked like swept it with his left hand first. good lord, jack (and wiley, for that matter) needs to yell at that kid.
March 25, 200519 yr awesome, good to see d-train on track for the season...everybody said all this kid needs is time and he'll produce,he has showed they were right...
March 25, 200519 yr Did he show signs of picking up a third pitch? I know that last year his predictability was the knock on him.
March 25, 200519 yr What's best about Dontrelle is his enthusaim and his love for playing baseball, all phases of it. I'd love to see him scale back on the wildness around the bases, but he is doing what he should be doing on the diamond and the thing we all did at one time on the diamond....have fun.

However it says it may be difficult for him b/c he has a 3/4 delivery not a full overhand
