March 30, 200519 yr not unless they move to the nl east :thumbup and if u mean about plashki's comment on the best middle order in nl? its rolen edmonds pujols vs lowell delgado cabrera. maybe stl has edge cause of experience with pujols/cabs but i'd say they're right up there

March 31, 200519 yr I'm sorry, but no one competes with Walker-Pujols-Edmonds-Rolen. That might be one of the best foursome of all time.
March 31, 200519 yr The cardinals have a flithy line up. I cant wait for the season to start. Who are the top teams in the NL, is it just Braves, Marlins, Cubs and Cards? SF would have been but barry is out for half the year. Astros also lost Kent and Beltran

Pujols > Cabrera Edmonds < Delgado Rolen < Lowell Walker> Lo Duca
March 31, 200519 yr Rolen < Lowell 724767  care to explain your reasoning on that one?
March 31, 200519 yr Greeny on Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPNEWS and ESPN Radio picked the Marlins to win the WS and for Delgado to win the NL MVP. Jason Stark picked Cabby to win the NL MVP.
March 31, 200519 yr Lowell and Rolen have been pretty even offensively throughout their careers if I remember correctly. Rolen had a career year in that lineup last year, but for the rest of his career he has been fairly equal to Lowell. Rolen get's a lot of publicity for his defense. The Cardinals probably have the better middle lineup, but who cares?? Anyone who knows anything about baseball knows that to win in the playoffs you have to have big game pitchers. The reason the Marlins are great in the postseason is because we always have 3 or 4 great starters that can win games. The Cardinals may win more regular season games than we do, but as always come playoff time we will prevail.

Lowell average over his career: 19 Homeruns 74 RBIs hitting .277 Rolen average over his career: 25 Homeruns 92 RBIs hitting .286 Rolen also has a much higher OBP and SLG. Plus Rolen averages 10 steals a year and while Lowell has 17 for his career.
March 31, 200519 yr I think the Big Red Machine might argue with that one, Juanky... 724675 One of.....one of......
March 31, 200519 yr Just for fun: The Mets were a .500 team and contended for the NL East lead for a while last year even with Jose Reyes out, Al Leiter on and off the DL, and Jae Seo/Matt Ginter as their 5th starter. The wheels only really fell off when Mike Piazza, Jose Reyes, Victor Zambrano, and Kaz Matsui all went on the DL almost in the same week. This season they added the best free agent pitcher on the market and the best all around position player in baseball. Add in they'll have improved middle infield defense, Mike Piazza's bat back at catcher, a full season of David Wright, Kris Benson added to their rotation, and a manager who isn't in a comatose state; and you're looking at a serious contender. On edit: And even though ST wins and losses mean nothing, we've been the 3rd or 4th best team in the league this spring.
March 31, 200519 yr I think the Mets will falter.. they are overrated. The Phillies are better than them. I think we are better than the Braves on paper but it's their division to win until they lose it. Cox will probably get career years from "done" guys like Mondesi and Jordan... grrrr. 1. Braves 2. Marlins (WC) 3. Phillies 4. Mets 5. Nationals The nationals are underrated as well.
