I dont understand why we only get 11k people in the stands... is there something I am missing?

It really just breaks my heart that people dont support our team. I guess Miami is not a baseball city :confused

"You build it they will come"

"2,000,000 this year no doubt"

"The hurricanes kept them away"

Is it built yet?

2M was an assanine post.

They did.

11k is f***ing pathetic.

The Braves drew 16k, also around 33 percent of their stadium. I imagine a monday night early in the season had something to do with both occasions.

Hell, second game of the season only drew 10k for the White Sox in Chicago.

Who the f***s going to go to a Monday night game.

Good God.

And I'll say it once and I'll say it again, baseball's season is twice as big as it needs to be.

O's drew their smallest crowd in Camden Yards history last week.

We won't be drawing these crowds once school lets out.

Im sorry, I have to say this moneyball. Everytime you post, my initial reaction is one that your post has the emotions of the smiley face you have as your avatar. Like you could post "I accidently killed a baby tonight." and Id just assume you were joking or are being sarcastic. :lol

Sorry, had to get that off my chest.

my jaw dropped in disappointment when dvh said there were only 11..tis not good, but things will look betters

That's what I had in mind when I chose the avatar. I was also going for the creepy sexual predator/ Rich Waltz look. Glad you liked it.

Meh, who am I to judge...

btw..it does look like Rich.

I don't know what is wronfg with people in South Florida - this is truly sad. I work in Marketing and I do not know how else these people can get butts in the seats, but let's look at a number here (for compasions sake)

The first Monday game last year; May 24,2004 Drew a whopping 10,214 - so we actually moved up in attendance.

Tomorrow's Attendance will be ~13,500 -14,000 from the data I have

That was a month into the season.

The first Monday game we played in, had an attendance of 20,009, in Colorado.

You gotta compare Apples to Apples. You can't compare our home attendance with Colorado's - they have a stronger fan base. Also, there is a shift in attendance as the season goes on; it improves a bit

To improve their attendance Mon - Thurs, they would need to offer a family package at an affordale price - not the 4 for 64. A package in the ~ $40 range would suit them fine. The Marlins are hit, becuase they focus only on weekend packages and there are not that many that would commit to a full season package. A package would look like this

3/40 or 4/40

Outfield Reserve Tix

3 Hot Dogs w/Soda

1 Promotional Item

The Promotional Item and the Sodas cost the Marlins little to nothing, plus increased # of fans pay for parking, merchandise, etc.

Total Cost with parking is $50.00 for a family of 3/4

Here's another idea for the Marlins fans and is a fan of direct marketing. They can offer those who attend "Premium Games" discounted tickets to "Any" non-premium Mon - Thurs game.

The offer would go something like this:

Purchase any 2 or more premium tickets for a Marlins home game and receive 2 or more Mon - Thurs game tickets @ X% off, (where X is a number that is profitable for the Marlins Organization; Custoemrs tend to buy in at 40 -50 % off) Offer not valid on Founder's club seats ,etc.

meh we all know the vast majority of south florida fans suck...no big surprise here

But the fanbase in Colorado is much bigger. Back in the day that franchise had 45-50k people in Coors a night.

O's drew their smallest crowd in Camden Yards history last week.

That was still 16,300+ people.

:plain

11,000 or not, i'm proud to say that I was one of the few people out there tonight supporting the team :thumbup .

After the Delgado signing, I thought every game was going to be 30k+, guess I was wrong :confused .
