*rolls eyes* :barf

Gotta say Castro got his paybacks. Not quite sure how I feel about that. Kinda crappy, kinda happy, very little inbetween.

He wasn't found guilty of anything.

744682

He took a plea deal where he plead guilty to aggravated assault and battery if the major rape charges were dropped in exchange for no jail time. He was also forced to make a public apology in a Pittsburgh newspaper, he apologized to the woman for any "misunderstanding" and he apologized to his family for all the pain he caused them.

Castro last year struggled for 3 reasons IMO. One was that he has problems hitting a lot of breaking pitches, which is why he made that hit against mota today, b/c mota threw a fastball down the middle . 2. The whole rape trial was affecting him 3. broken toe

Happy? You crazy?

744698

I was thinking the same thing, how the hell could you be HAPPY...

...

He ran into trouble with the law in August 2003 when he was with the Florida Marlins. According to ESPN.com, Castro was arrested and charged with raping a woman at a hotel while on the road. He pleaded not guilty to rape and later no contest to a misdemeanor indecent assault charge.

Now is it that you lied saying he pleaded guilty?

Or do you not understand what "no contest" means?

Either way, I think you should correct yourself.

Actually nolo contendre is basically a guilty plea. The only difference is that the victims will have a hard time winning a civil suit agaisnt castro b/c there is no admission of guilt. For the criminal justice system a plea of nolo contendre and guilty is the same thing.

I think you should learn to read a dictionary. You obviously don't know the meaning of no contest in a legal context.

Either way, I REFUSE to get into another mindless debate with you, because that's exactly what every thread you post in turns into. You already completely ruined two of my threads in the past day, don't ruin this thread as well.

Ramon really gave us a big F U

I bet that felt great

744714

He'll now go 2-38 and be back in AAA in no time.

How can it be the same thing if he doesn't say he is guilty? And it is not proven he is guilty?

I am not saying he did or didn't do it. I am just saying he wasn't found guilty nor did he ever admit or plead guilt.

You said he pleaded guilty, explicitly. Show me where he did it, its simple.

B/c the punishment/sentence for nolo contendre plea and a guilty plea is exactly the same. No contest means you are going to accept all the charges against you while maintaining your innocence. To the criminal justice system it is irrelevant which one you do. The only difference b/w the two is what will happen in civil proceedings

When you plead no contest, you are still convicted and everything is exactly the same as if you would have plead guilty. Pleading no contest is just to prevent the defendant from facing any civil action, but there is no difference between a no contest and guilty plea.

No innocent man has ever plead no contest.

So, he took a plea deal where he did not say he was guilty.

Once again, where did he plead he was guilty?

I'm not saying he pled guilty. Someone else said that. I'm just saying that by pleading nolo contendre your accepting charges, meanign your not saying your guilty, but your not saying your not guilty either.

Okay thats fine. I am just saying he never admitted his guilt and I think you'll agree with me on that.

He plead no contest and was convicted, he even formally apologized to the women in a full page advertisement in a Pittsburgh newspaper for any pain he caused her, if you still think he is innocent, then I don't know what to tell you.
