I will update every month and players will move up and some will move down. Remember this is just my opinion but I do watch a lot of minor league games and I am familiar with many Marlin minor leaguers.

and why is Joe Dillon on your list?

He isnt even a prospect

764090

Joe Dillon is on my list only because of his production last season. I consider him a prospect despite his age because he has never played in the majors. For instance I do not consider Frank Castillo or Wilson Delgado prospects because they have spent ample time in the pros.

I wish you would include something more useful than RBIs as an indication of goodness.

764087

Goodness?...Stats aren't the only reason they are on the list. I am just showing others what they have done so far this year. The list is determined by everything that makes a prospect- velocity, speed, potential, arm, bat, defense. For example, Im not as high on Yorman Bazardo as some people are. I think Jason Vargas and Josh Johnson will become better pros.

lol, Padgett, Dillon, Miadich, and Ungs? None of those guys are even prospects, let alone top 20 prospects.(Maybe Ungs could be considered one, but he's really not going anywhere.)

You have to take a little more into account than just what they've done so far this year, obviously Tankersley is one of our top 10 prospects.

 • Author

why do you like Adam Bostick II so much?

764177

I think this guy will move up the charts. I first heard about him when my friend watched him pitch. 1st off, I like him because he's a lefty.

Secondly, in 4 years as a minor leaguer he has allowed less hits than IP.

Finally, I like that he has the ability to get the strikeout. This is his career stats...

Year 1- 14 IP/ 15 K

Year 2- 77 IP/ 76 K

Year 3- 114 IP/ 163 K (12.87 K's per 9!)

Year 4- 27 IP/ 33 K

(so far)

I know K's aren't everything but he has a decent career ERA as well and last year was his breakout season. He has pitched pretty good this year as well.

Again, I am classifying "prospects" as guys who have not played in the pros before over a year. I am not as high on Tankersley as some people having watched him in the SEC. I do think he is in the Top 15 but he hasn't pitched yet this year. As season as Allison pitches, I expect him to jump into the top 20 as well.

no love for Lincoln Hodzkom? How about Josh Wilson or Ronald Belizario or Reggie Abercrombie

Holdzkom and Belizario are both injured. They have great potential but haven't showed it on the field yet. Reggie Abercrombie hasn't done anything yet. He has good size and is a good prospect but hasn't put together results yet. I think more people just like him for his last name.

I like Josh Wilson and thought about including him but he's not off to a good start this season. Josh Wilson will never be a MLB starter. The best he will be is a utility/backup. Robert Andino has much more upside.

Holdzkom has pitched very well in his career so far, not sure why you say he hasnt shown it on the field yet.

Then you have guys like Padgett who havent done anything in the minor league career except for this year and yet he is #13 on your list.

What do you think of De Aza and Molina? How about Yourkin and Mobley?

Again man this is just my opinion. Padgett has hit decently at every level. Your right, this is his breakout season but he is tearing it up. Guys like De Aza, Molina, Youkin, and Mobley are not in the Top 20 yet. They need to progess to higher levels before we can rate how good they are.

I know it's your opinion, but Im still allowed to disagree with you. You also contradict yourself when you say guys like De Aza, Molina, Mobley and Yourkin arent on your list because they have to progress to higher levels, yet Jason Vargas, Jonathan Fulton, Ryan Bear, James Russ, and Allen Bazter are on your list(or HR). And just like you have your opinion, I gotta disagree with your little throery on prospects are anyone who hasnt had a year in the majors yet.

De Aza isnt hitting well this year at all. Molina has holes in his swing and doesn't hit for a high average. Jason Vargas is progessing like crazy. Ryan Bear hits for average and had 17 jacks last year. Baxter (high draft pick) has loads of potential but hasn't lived up to it yet.

Bummer, I was hoping this was Jon Sickle's Top 20 list...

Nice.

I bet Andino will be quickly moving up that list...

Aguila, Hagerty? Thats a little outdated. Bostick, Andino, and Vargas will be moving up. The injury to Tankersley is a major setback. Also, Bazardo is just as good if not better than Logan Kensing. No doubt about that.

How is Tankersley's injury a major setback? He's only going to miss a month or two.

His list was made just before spring training. Aguila's still had prospect status, because he hadn't had enough at-bats for him to lose his prospect status. (I forget how many at-bats that is) and Hagerty's a good prospect he just a long way from the majors.

And it's not tough to make a list during the season, it's tougher to do one before the year begins

Bazardo has always been rated higher than Kensing for a while now.

765917

except that people are starting to get iffy on Yorman because of his lack of strikeouts
