Posted May 13, 200519 yr ...besides being 7-0? They're both Cubs who got away.. that's gotta be a kick in the balls
May 13, 200519 yr By now Cubby fans should be accustomed to being kicked in the balls on an everyday basis.
May 13, 200519 yr Wow, that really really hurts for the Cubs. They're 15-18 and 6.5 games back in their division, but if they would have kept both Willis and Garland then they would be on top of their division, despite losing Nomar and Sosa, 2 future hall of famers.

May 13, 200519 yr With Prior, Zambrano, and Wood, I don't think they care too much. 771940 They lost 2 future hall of famers, they clearly need some help to beat the Cardinals in their division, and they really want to win the WS which they can't do if they don't improve. A rotation of Prior, Zambrano, Wood, Willis, and Garland would probably take them to the playoffs despite the loss of Nomar and Sosa. So they care a lot, trust me. They really want to win the WS and Willis and Garland would make them much better. Also, look the the Florida Marlins. We have 3 awesome starters, AJ, Josh and Willis, but we still want some more good starters to take care of Leiter and Moehler if he stops pitching good.

This kid is still as ridiculous as ever.
May 13, 200519 yr It's not like you wouldn't be able to get a good pitcher for Zambrano... 771958 Why would you want to trade Zambrano? He's been the ace of that staff for two years now.

May 14, 200519 yr Well, they traded Garland for nothing, which is a kick in the balls, but they got Alfonseca and Clement for D Train basically, which looked like a good trade at the time, so I can't blame them for that..... But yeah, to dump Willis and Garland and keep Kerry Wood, who can't stay healthy ever, must suck....

If you mean Nomar will go into the Soccer Hall of Fame for being the father of Mia Hamm's future amazing soccer children, then sure.
May 14, 200519 yr 3 years ago, Garciaparra was on pace for the HOF. Not any longer. His downfall is kind of sad really.

I was talking about Nomar and Sosa.
May 15, 200519 yr ...besides being 7-0? They're both Cubs who got away.. that's gotta be a kick in the balls 771735 Does Chip Carry read this board? Because on last nights Braves/Dodgers game he was talking about Hee Shop Choi's injury when he was on the Cubs and he said something to the degree of "Speaking of the Cubs, if the all-star game was today the starters would be 7-0 Dontrelle Willis and 7-0 Jon Garland, who were both drafted by, signed by, and traded by the Cubs. Chip is alittle bitter eh?
