The Angels would not be Angelinos. They would be Los Angels. You would pronounce it in Spanish as Ahn-hels.

Los Angeles means The Angels (plural).

Rangers wouldn't change as the Texas Rangers (both the state police and AL team) translate the name to Spanish entirely.

You wanna debate this with El Nuevo Herald.

All the sites I've checked have them as Los Angelinos.

The AP and the Herald are likely using faulty translation software.

Singular: The Angel=El Angel

Plural: The Angels=Los Angeles

I know Spanish as I learned it at the same time I learned English.

Somebody would have caught it by now.

You also want to debate this with Univision 23?

I learned Spanish before I learned English. :thumbup

It is not right. It is a bastardization of the language and the Los Angeles Angels do not use it officially.

They are the/los Angels in both languages. Angelinos is not proper.

You obviously are not a native Spanish speaker or else you would have read a Spanish bible or novel in which Angels are called ?ngels. You will not see "angelinos" in a spanish bible.

Ok Cape you're right.

I don't speak spanish. I can't speak to my family members.

It's Los Angeles.

The spanish language is being bastardized.

:plain !!!

Deal with the fact you are incorrect some times and take it in stride.

The rest of the spanish speaking world calls them Los Angelinos.

They are not called the Angelinos. I have never heard them called that once in conversation. They are the Angels, even on their Spanish website!

All you can pull up are some badly translated AP articles.

Moneyball is correct. The Angels (that is, the ballclub) have always been referred to as Los Angelinos in the Puerto Rican media, which is entirely in Spanish.

As for the Rangers, they've been called Los Rancheros by some in the past (which is even less accurate), but overwhelmingly they're known as Los Vigilantes.

Cape, I see what you're trying to say. Angelinos may not sound accurate, but that's the way they're best known in my (former) neck of the woods.

Just because something has been bastardized somehow doesn't mean it is right. The team maintains its brand as "Los Angels" in Spanish and that is how it should be listed.

I know you may have heard it called "Los Angelinos," but how many times do things in Spanish get bastardized?

The letter "y" is often a target of this for example. Mexicans and other Central Americans have cut it to "ye" but it is "i griega" no matter how much they try to bastardize it.

You're using the Angels website. Arte Moreno is promoting the Angels.

Notice Angels is in english.

If you fail to read the first post, the names are translated for a possible future tribute to latin players.

In Spanish Angels is Angelinos.

if this ever happened, the Padres would have to be referred to as the Fathers, or the Priests.

and Yankees would be Yanquis

Twins could be either Mellizos or Gemelos

Los Angels is a bigger bastardization of the Spanish language then Los Angelinos.

...

Or the Daddies!

"WHO'S YOUR DADDY??"

:hat

No one is arguing that "Los Angels" is a bastardization.

The proper way would be "Los Angeles." The brand name however that would appear on the jersey you said above would be "Los Angels."
