Moe threatens Josh's deer head

Featured Replies

Mounted on the wall of the Marlins' clubhouse Wednesday next to Josh Beckett's locker: one deer head.

Beckett paid $150 at a Bass Pro Shop for "Buck," a 10-point deer version of the Billy the Bass singing fish. With the press of a button, Buck talks and sings six songs, from ZZ Top's La Grange to Elvis Presley's Suspicious Minds.

"Someone's going to take a bat to it,'' pitcher Brian Moehler said with a laugh.

"They'll owe me $150,'' Beckett said.

I could only imagine how horribly annoying that thing is.

I laughed when I read Beckett had that stupid deer head. I actually saw that thing last winter at a Cabelas. It was cute and funny but after a while I was absolutely certain it should be used as a target!

I think Burnett said something in the paper this morning that he is going right after the thing if he has a bad start.

:lol

In the paper this morning it said:

"During batting practice, Burnett kiddingly took the deer head and wore a Marlins jacket pulled up so high that only the deer head could be seen"
