June 5, 200521 yr Saying we're only a game out of first is deceiving. That just means the whole division is playing .500 ball and isn't that good. It should be alarming to the FO that we've gone from 10 games over .500 to basically .500 in two weeks. Our lousy record in one run games is telling. You don't win in the playoffs if you can't win close games. This incarnation of the team is not getting it done and is starting to look gutless. If they fall behind, they mail it in. Not a good sign in early June. Slides like this snowball quick unless major changes are made to shake things up. I'm not talking about playing Conine for one or two days and then sitting him for a week. Players who have been slumping for two months have had enough time. Send them to the minors to wake them up or cut them. If they haven't figured it out after two months, it's time to give someone else a chance. Play Dillon, call up Willingham, play Conine whatever, but do it for a few weeks not one game here or there. If they want to play like s***, fine, but I don't have to watch it. We had 13 hits today and got 3 f***ing runs while they got 6 runs on 9 hits. This horseshit has got to stop. We nearly got swept by a mediocre Mets team, a s***ty Pirates team, and we did get swept by a mediocre Nationals team. If we're going to keep getting our asses handed to us by second rate teams, we need to end any pretensions about winning this division.

June 5, 200521 yr We are all very frustrated, as I'm sure the team is. If not one aspect of team play failing, then another. We have no room for error at all. AJ pitches one hell of a game and then the lack of offense and sloppy defense gives it away. It's a shame.
