June 5, 200521 yr We're finding out what every other team who employed him found out. Jack can turn a team around quick when he's a change from the status quo, but after a few years his teams start underperforming and sliding toward mediocrity. You can make all the excuses for Jack you want, the fact is this has happened everywhere he's managed.

June 5, 200521 yr can somone anwser my question, What is the point of having a Lefty specialist that cant get leftys out.
June 5, 200521 yr If Perisho isn't sent down immediately after tonights game, something is very wrong. 797196 I don't think he'll be sent down. Jack could have sent down Lowell this season because he was slumping but he didn't. And now that Perisho is pitching bad, by his moves in the past, he probably won't.
June 5, 200521 yr can somone anwser my question, What is the point of having a Lefty specialist that cant get leftys out. 797213 He did it fairly good last year, and Jack has belief in him that he could turn things around and be effective again.

June 5, 200521 yr Fast facts on Marlins' favorite reliever Matt Perisho VsL in 2005 .320 Average .486 OBP .480 SLG 2.43 WHIP 9 BB 4 2B 5 RBI All this in 25 at bats Oh btw, this is all not including the 2-2 with a 3R he allowed today against lefties. 797146 What's odd is here are his stats against righties .100 Average .217 OBP .150 SLG .70 WHIP 2 BB 1 2B 0 RBI The exact opposite from last year. He is 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA going into today's game. Go figure.

June 5, 200521 yr Lowell is starting to show he can hit... 797223 .....like a leadoff man someone give him some of that magic cream
June 5, 200521 yr Lowell is starting to show he can hit again, why would you send him down? 797223 Lowell was given many opportunties to break out of his slump, so expect Jack to give Perisho the same.

June 5, 200521 yr Lowell was given many opportunties to break out of his slump, so expect Jack to give Perisho the same. 797229 Jack has, Perisho blew it yet again today. Perisho is a scrub, Lowell is an All Star...big difference.
June 5, 200521 yr Lowell is starting to show he can hit... 797223 .....like a leadoff man someone give him some of that magic cream 797228 I believe if Lowell start hitting for higher average, the power should come back. But who knows on these things

And so too with Perisho, Jack will continue putting him in places where it counts and hope that he'll do good.
June 5, 200521 yr If this team hit like Leadoff hitters constantly they would be like the 2003 team. 797235 um ok

That's probably exactly what Jack will do. It's awful tough to change Jack's mind with pesky things with facts.

We almost lost the WC on 03 when he sticked with Looper throught tick and tin

On the other hand, Perisho hasn't. But that's just the way Jack is...that's his way of thinking...but atleast he won us the WS in 03'...

His ERA also is low because he never gives up any of his own runners, on the three run job he was only responsible for Church.
June 5, 200521 yr More importantly, why was Reidling given an expanded role? He has stunk. Arguably our 5th best pitcher in the 'pen, and he's getting #2 guy type work.
June 5, 200521 yr slumping is a part of baseball...nothing you can do about it. i love how you guys always try to blame losses on one man. it's crazy. if nobody can hit you are going to lose.

Arguably our 5th best pitcher in the 'pen, and he's getting #2 guy type work. 797377 I agree with you totally. And why in the hell was Travis Smith the only righty warming up in the 7th with the game on the line? I know Jack has Mota in the dog house, but he would have been better than Riedling in the 8th.
