QuickSilver
Lakers rehire Phil Jackson as coach Story Tools: Print Email Associated Press Posted: 2 minutes ago LOS ANGELES (AP) - Phil Jackson is coming back to the Los Angeles Lakers, the team he left last year after three NBA championships in five seasons. Lakers spokesman John Black said Tuesday the team has rehired Jackson, who was let go by owner Jerry Buss last June 18. A news conference was set for 5 p.m. EDT at Staples Center. Jackson, who will turn 60 in September, is arguably the most successful coach in NBA history. He had health issues in the past and underwent an angioplasty two years ago. He told ABC-TV before the opening game of the NBA Finals that he underwent a series of tests to make sure he was healthy.

TSwift25
This could go down as the dumbest move of all time. If Jackson is never fired, Shaq never leaves L.A., Kobe's traded for TMac and the Lakers are getting new championship rings. Phil's already lambasted Kobe in his book, Kobe's burned every bridge in LA, and the Lakers have no trade chips available to get legit front court help (Odom's good, but his contract is too long to get equal value back), yet they're bringing Phil back? Accord
Well, at least we'll get to see if Phil Jackson is actually a good coach or not now. Any half decent coach can take a Lakers team stacked with Shaq or a Bulls team with Jordan to the playoffs every year. Now we'll really see what he can do with the current mediocre Lakers team. FishFan24
While I'm happy for the Laker fans, the hyprocrite is back. I mean, isn't this the same man that said he wouldn't coach Bryant again? I guess thats what the power of money and the 3 inch layer of real estate on the bosses daughter will do for ya. :mischief

We get to see how good of a coach he really is. I think's Red is pretty happy as Phil's reputation can only go downhill.
