Should the HR sculpture stay or go?
I think its better than having a big empty space in center field. If they have a plan to replace it with something more aesthetically pleasing then change it, otherwise keep it as it is. And I feel the green walls are way more of an issue than the sculpture

I think we should stop trading with the Tigers
Miggy was the only player we traded that was a real travesty as he appeared to be a future Hall of Famer when we traded him. The success of players after they leave the Marlins, not the trade itself, I feel is the most troubling aspect. This organization appears to have a real issue with motivating its players. Hanley Ramirez is the epitome of this, as after great success he dropped off more due to disinterest than a lack of skills. I feel Stanton is in that same rut and Cabrera most likely would have fallen victim to this as well. This is my largest gripe with the Loria era. The small payroll is no excuse for the lack of effort as teams like Oakland and Tampa are able to retool and get huge value out of players.

Stanton: Best Marlin Ever?
I think, as of right now, Hanley Ramirez is the best player ever. I was actually surprised by looking at Fangraphs how good Hanley was in 2008 and 2009. I guess the last three years have tarnished my memory of the first half of his career, but his numbers were pretty ridiculous for a shortstop. Miguel Cabrera is the only probable Hall of Famer (if he keeps up this production for another ~5 years) and probably the best player over a career to play for the Marlins for a significant amount of time. Its interesting to note that Giancarlo has been better than the others at his age, so if he keeps up this production projection and stays with the team for another 3 years he will definitively be the best. Let's talk Ruggiano
Pardon my ignorance, since I gave up watching most of the games in June, but what is the reason for Ruggiano's success. He's 30 and had zero success before in the majors. I just figured his high batting average was a fluke and that he would regress back to a sub 300 hitter. The boards seem to have faith in him, so what do you think are the prospects that his performance this year is legit and repeatable in future years?

5/13 - Mets @ Marlins - 1:10 PM
He had a small strike zone for Buck, but nothing to get so amped up about.

Bonifacio's Singles Streak
I've also been impressed with his effective use of the delayed steal. I don't remember anyone using it as regularly and with as much success as he does. Are there any other prolific base stealers, active or inactive, who used it frequently?

Yahoo Sports' Condescension
Caution: Rant Ahead Why does every Marlins article from Yahoo Sports have to include some comment about how the Marlins fleeced the taxpayers. I understand the need for Jeff Passan's exposé when the stadium deal was first worked out, but why do they feel the need to continue to include snide remarks whenever commenting on the Marlins. I'm suprised the editors have not curtailed this obvious bias reporting, as it questions the credibility of Yahoo Sports' journalism. I prefer their layout to the other big sports sites, but I can't see myself continuing to read their baseball coverage with such trite comments. Here are a couple examples from the past few days that are completely irrelavnt to the story at hand. All the tropical-tinged newness the Miami Marlins could squeeze out of local taxpayers Link Thanks to the craftiness of Loria, the gullibility of county officials and the resulting Marlins Park, Lachemann might have spoken a couple decades too soon Link

Bertuzzi traded to Red Wings
ESPN Review of Trade Perhaps more symbolic, the Panthers rid themselves of the cornerstone of what might turn out to be one of the worst trades in NHL history. Ouch. That stings.

Marlins are buyers?
Trading for Crawford would make tons of sense not just for this year but for the future as. Having a lineup of Hanley, Crawford, Cabrera, Hermida for the next five or so years would be devastating. I think we having the pitching prospects that could get it done as well (or at least more than some of the other contenders). Plus I think the Devil Rays would prefer a slew of young prospects vs Dontrelle Willis.

Censoring the Internet
Yahoo The government is mad at google for censoring the internet but I think the anger is misplaced. Does the US government not censor the internet in terms of preventing child pornography or copy right infringement . I am not condoning these things but I am saying that they censor the internet in order to enforce laws. China is censoring the internet to enforce their own laws. These laws may be unjust but the act of censoring the internet to enforce the laws is not. If Google, et al. are in the wrong it is because they are trying to make money in a country whose rights are being infringed upon by their government and not for helping to censor the internet. So they should either to business in the country or not. If they do in fact do business in China, they should follow their laws. In essence, I think that the American goverment should stop trying to subvert other peoples government through economic means. Freedom of Speech is a noble thing to fight for, but the battle should be fought in a diplomatic and humanitarian arena and not in an economic one.

Another Reason to Live in Florida
It reminds me of Bowling for Columbine, where they were talking about the United States as being a country that lives in fear. They showed a news clip of a reporter talking about these killer africanized bees that are invaded america. They were say it was going to be a widespread problem by like 2000 or something. Im sure these bees are more aggresive but pose nothing more than a nuisance to those not allergic to bees.

Tony Parker = all star
Its funny how a couple of years ago everyone wanted Jason Kidd to go to San Antonio because they thought Tony Parker wouldn't cut it. Now he's clearly the best of the two
