MrAndMrsFish
Great start to the Marlins long road trip, a 2-1 series win against the Cubs isn't too shabby, even though losing Josh with the blister will hurt a little bit...lets see how they do after an off day Thursday and a new ballpark view in Anaheim on Friday-Sunday. GO FISH!!!
Marlins
Hopefully we can win 6/9 from the Angels, Braves, and Rays. They all have records over .500 at home but they've all haven't been doing well as of late.
MrAndMrsFish
6/9 is doable from that group hopefully especially the way the D-Rays are starting to blow up....
Marlins
Yeah, I'm thinking hopefully we can sweep the Devil Rays, take 2 of 3 from the Braves, and 1 of 3 from the Angels.
El Guapo
6 out of 9 would be great
305Marlins305
im thinking we get 8 of 9, sweep d rays, 2 of 3 from the angels and sweep of the braves
Marlins
im thinking we get 8 of 9, sweep d rays, 2 of 3 from the angels and sweep of the braves 811440[/snapback] I think you're expecting too much. The D-Rays are 17-15 at home, so even facing them shouldn't be soooo easy. The Angels are 3 1/2 games better than us at this point and are 16-12 at home. The Braves are only a half game back of us and are terrific at home-(19-11). 6/9 would be great, 8 out of 9 is expecting too much.
MrAndMrsFish
I agree that 8 of 9 is asking a bit much....but you never know with this team it all depends which Marlins team shows up...cause if it was the hitters that showed up today that is possible...if it the team that showed up on Tuesday then the team will be lucky to win 3 of 9... :banghead
305Marlins305
true, im not expecting that we get 8 out of 9, but i THINK that we are, and i wont be suprised if we dont. and it is asking for too much, even getting 4 out of 9 would be exeptable to me with the talent that the teams were playing have and how good there playing at home

I don't know why you're expecting us to hit like we did every single day. We had 20 hits, we don't need that many every night. Half of that is just fine. We just need good pitching performances out of our starting pitchers. Dontrelle pitched good, AJ pitched good until the end, and Josh was bad. So if we can improve and get some more production in that area then we'll be fine. We need Leiter to start pitching good, and we need Moehler to get back on track and have a good outing. If those 2 things happen then we'll be great. And btw: Why is the title of this thread "Good Start to a long road trip? We only have 9 more games to go. It's a pretty normal sized road trip. Cambridge Marlin
I think he was trying to make the point that from now on its a normal sized road trip, with only 9 games left, ignoring the three we have already played.

TheMothman
Ill he happy with 2 of 3 of the angel 2 of 3 of the braves and sweep the devils rays, which shouldnt be to hard now that they are struggling.
The Folklegend
I like our chances to win 7. The Braves are really banged up, and the Rays are flailing.
PBMarlin
The Cubs really surprised me yesterday by beating up on Beckett. I suppose it shouldn't have been too surprising as Beckett still hasn't shown he can be good consistently. Somehow I was expecting a strong performance out of him though. It was great to see the offense didn't get down and came back fighting today. This bodes well for a solid road trip.

MarlinsContinueTo ShowDomi
What worries me about the Rays is their abundance of no-name pitchers, who tend to pitch shutouts against the Marlins.
Marlin Nation
I wonder if the heartbreaking 1-0 loss to the Nats will have any effect, for good or ill for the Angels.

OldSand
Is it too much to expect a sweep of the Angels? But seriously...past week we got 2-1 from Texas and 2-1 from the Cubs, and our struggling offense (see Lowell, Pierre) have shown signs of life...we could see the fish go on a tear right about now.
