June 23, 200521 yr In the tossup segment it was D-Train vs. Clemens. Tony picked Clemens because of his better ERA and Wilbon picked D-Train because of his record... and that was pretty much it.

June 24, 200521 yr what matters more, a pitcher who goes out there and wins or someone who doesnt give up alot of runs, you have an argument for both. But in team sports the only thing that matters is the W

June 24, 200521 yr Giant game he just pitched. That was a team's stopper going up there and just dominating. For whatever reason the team continues to score runs when he pitches. I tell you the kid's energy is contagious.

No way a lackluster offense was going to ruin his Cy Young run.

June 24, 200521 yr i think his head first slide really shows you what type of player he is and tells me that he realizes the funk our offense is in and he will do everything in his power to stop it.

June 24, 200521 yr Author Is it Clemens' fault the Astros have one of the worst offenses in baseball? 823432[/snapback] Technically, yes it absolutely is his fault, or at least partially. He is being paid an ungodly salary of $22 million for this single season, because of this the Astros have absolutely ZERO flexibility to acquire a big bat or two.

June 24, 200521 yr Think D-TRAIN! deserves the all star place. Sure Clemens has a higher ERA but another reason why Willis wins so many is he plays gold glove callibur defence and is currently hitting .260 sumthin. Also he runs the base paths with authority and always slides head first. D train brings so much excitment to any game and that's something the stats don't show. Anyway, if Clemens is announced starter I wouldn't argue too much. For what he has accomplished over the years and continues to accomplish he would make a fine starter in what should be his final season.

June 24, 200521 yr Clemens and Willis' ERA's are pretty similar (what, .20 difference?), and Willis has six more wins. I go with Willis.
