Passion
Coveted free agent Michael Redd agreed Thursday to re-sign with the Milwaukee Bucks, choosing to stay with the only NBA team he's played for over LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. "He's going to get a max deal in Milwaukee for $90 to $96 million, depending on what the cap is, over six years," Redd's agent, Kevin Poston, told The Associated Press early Thursday afternoon. "Michael started his career in Milwaukee and hopes to end it there, too. "It was a tough decision between the Bucks and the Cavaliers, but Michael's heart is in Milwaukee and he's excited about his future there," Poston added. Redd, who was the top remaining free agent available, met with James and Cavs officials in Cleveland on Wednesday, one day after meeting with the Bucks. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard averaged a career-high 23 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists last season. He has averaged 17.7 points while making 39.4 percent of his 3-point shots since Milwaukee drafted him in second round, with the 43rd overall pick, in the 2000 NBA draft. Poston said Redd, who turns 26 in August, is excited about playing with former Utah center Andrew Bogut, the No. 1 pick overall in last month's draft, and for the Bucks' next coach. "Michael had Andrew have spoken at great length and are really looking forward to starting something special in Milwaukee," said Poston, an agent based in suburban Detroit. "We also know who the Bucks are focused in on to be their next coach, and Michael is very comfortable with him." The Bucks signed Bogut to a multiyear contract last week and have been searching for a new coach since firing Terry Porter last month. ESPN.com's Andy Katz reported Thursday that the Bucks are expected to hire Warriors assistant Terry Stotts. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2102454 Im glad to see a guy wanting to stay with one team his entire career. FIUMarlinfan
This is great news for the Heat. The Cavs wont be as strong as I feared them to be now. Lebron and Redd would have been a great duo.
Fish Tank Frenzy
Im kinda shocked. I thought he would go to the Cavs to play with King James. Cant blame the guy, $20 million is a lot of money to pass up to go play for LeBron. I wonder who the Cavs go after now? This is not good for the Cavs. If they cant find people to play with LeBron, LeBron will be playing in NY or LA in a couple of years. Personally I think Redd is overrated. He is a very good player but not a MAX contract kinda guy. I hear the Rockets are interested in Stromile Swift but if the Cavs were smart they would be looking his way also.

Someone that can hit mid range jumpers and bang inside and be able to play well off of James.

The Bucks hired Redd's friend, Terry Stotts, as HC (He'll get a real coaching oppurtunity now, Atlanta wasn't the best job in the world), Redd is good friends with Mason, He'll have Bogut, and TJ Ford will be back. The Bucks had home court for the first round all-season TJ's rookie year until he got hurt. Once he got hurt, they slipped. Also, the Bucks still have their MLE and cap room so they can make more moves. The Bucks will be a playoff team next year.
Das Texan
Ilgauskas is a sprained foot away from retirement.... and they havent exactly gotten far with him have they? what the cavs need is to form an identity. then they need to mold their team around that identity and most importantly find some sort of depth. their lack of depth has been the number one reason they have not been in the playoffs the last two years. Passion
According to this article: http://www.cleveland.com/sports/plaindeale...coll=2#continue The Cavs could be interested in getting back PF Carlos Boozer.
Flying_Mollusk
Rumors are that the Cavs have signed Admin Hughes. IMO thats a better fit for Cleveland than Redd or Allen. Hughes is a much better defender though not a good three point shooter. He was a big reason for the Wizards success this year. If this is true, the Cavs need to add a 3 point shooter and do it for the PG position to compliment Lebron and Hughes. Perhaps a Damon Jones. Someone that can hit mid range jumpers and bang inside and be able to play well off of James. Why is that not Drew Gooden?
Accord
That is an obscene amount of money, $96 million GOOD GOD MAN.

Hughes really evolved into a complete player last year and became a really good defender. That would be a good snag for the Cavs.
