Admin
I do not advocate trading Mike Lowell. I think he will have a great 2nd half. Let him work out whatever kinks he has in the 2nd half. BUT...Trading Encarnacion wouldnt bother me a bit. The Pirates were said to be interested in him at the start of the season, and after Kip Wells dominant performance yesterday(I have said to trade for him before), send Encarnacion and a prospect or 2 to the Pirates for Kip Wells, Mike Gonzalez, and Ryan Voglesong. That gives us another starter in Wells, a spot starter/long reliever in Voglesong, and a good lefty reliever in Gonzalez. Another good thing is it's cheap, thats 3 mil worth of talent there. We would prob have to take half of Enc's contract, but him and a prospect or 2 would get it done, espicially since the Pirates have a great depth of pitching in the minors. If they want AJ Burnett, they'd have to throw in Zach Duke and possibly Sean Burnett as well. (PLUS THE PIRATES ARE HORRIBLE AT MAKING DEALS, plus if we get Sean Burnett back and gave him AJ's old # I wouldnt be so pissed about buying that price AJ home alternate jersey). So heres my trade proposal, if we have no chance of resigning AJ: Pirates get: AJ Burnett Juan Encarnacion Jai Miller Taylor Tankersly Marlins get: Kip Wells Ryan Voglesong Mike Gonzalez Sean Burnett Zach Duke and possibly Rob Mackowiak and while I'm at it I'll throw this out there: Astros get: Jason Stokes Anthony Bostik(RHP) Cole Seifrig Marlins get: Brad Lidge
