Gonzo and Delgado outta the lineup. It makes me happy to know we are playing this well without 2 of our core and with Luiy playing banged up.

I thought Delgado was supposed to return today? Are they giving him additional rest just to be safe?

yeah, that's the point....every day he's "supposed to return today." latest news is that it's not looking like he's gonna return tomorrow, either.

 

as for DL'ing him - i think he's a critical enough player that, as long as there's a chance he could play against the Reds this weekend, we have to keep him off the DL. however, unless they're sure to get him back, they should DL him in time for the Colorado doubleheader - we'll need as many players as possible for those games.

I read on the Marlins MLB site that his elbow has been bothering him since spring training. That's probably why he's not hitting that many homeruns this season.

Now that it appears that the Marlins are considering DLing Delgado, I was surprised to read in the paper(s) today that they might consider bringing up Hermida to take his roster spot while he recuperates.

 

Why in the name of god they would make that move baffles me. You've got three outfielders who are playing well and hitting the heck out of the ball, Cabrera is second only to Lee (last time I looked) in BA, Enc is at or near .300 and JP has been bringing his average back up to where it should be, why, with two ailing middle infielders would the team contemplate bringing up Hermida when they already have Aguila as their 4th outfielder and when they so obviously need another guy to spell their middle infielders?

 

I just don't get it. I can only hope it's just the rambling of a bush league reporter rather than anything based in fact.
