HELP: Calling All Grounds crew!!!!

Featured Replies

There was a very strong thunderstorm over Joe Robbie Stadium tonight......just minutes before the football team started their pre-season scrimmage. The storm dumped almost 2 inches of rain. The football team is tearing up our outfield and infield grass. This will be a huge challenge for the grounds crew. It may potentially cause a weather related postponment of tomorrow's game, but I doubt it. I think the grounds crew can do a good job and the game will go on. But the field condition will be a factor tomorrow....equal for both teams.

You know I wouldn't mind the Marlins going to an artificial turf.

The field looked pretty beat up already Wednesday night. Can't imagine how much worse it can get. *checks memory* Yeah, it can worse, but we've dealt with this countless times before. I hope our players are safe.

We pretty much are. The turf is said to be kept shorter than most in the league.

Yeah Craig Minervini has mentioned it a few times. Perry Hill said it's the fastest it's ever been.

From AP:

"The Dolphins punted five times before picking up a first down. By their third series there were boos from the crowd, which totaled only about 20,000."

Sheesh, the Dolphins are drawing worse than the Marlins...why do I find that so utterly delicious? :D

And you call yourself a baseball fan???????? :confused

It's taken all these years to finally get all the turf out of the NL.

It's grass. It sometimes gets chewed up. Live with it.

(besides, if they went to turf, the 'fins wouldn't be able to blame a missed field goal on the infield dirt.)

Where's the web cam??? :mischief

Edit: Cool I can see the conversion on the time lapse.
