Ken Griffey Jr Is Hurt Again

Featured Replies

Junior pulled up lame rounding 2nd base. No article yet, just a phone call from a relative at the game. :(

Its just a minor injury- Day to Day

It's hamstring related. That is not minor with Griffey. It wasn't pretty, either. I spoke to someone at the game.

They said on TBS it's his foot not his hamstring.

have you ever watched his injuries?

most have been freak things

Guys, he's day-to-day relax it's not like he tore his hammy again, almost every player is day-to-day at some point during the year.

Almost every player.......but not Cal Ripken Jr., the greatest player in the history in the world. Whatever to Orioles players who didn't eat lotsa doughnuts or take steriods? Whatever happened to Orioles who could pitch good? :(

Perhaps Ponson can eat Angelos? :confused

Strained foot. Big whoop.

Until this 3 1/2 year stretch, Griffey was one of the most reliable players in the game. Maybe he just doesn't like Cinci?

In any case, the Yanks, Chisox, A's, and Angels would bust a nut to get him into their lineup...

The curse of Mike Mussina

Griffey's season could be over...

Ken Griffey Jr. - OF - Reds

Responding to the report that Ken Griffey Jr. (foot) might be done for the season, the Reds say they expect their center fielder back in the lineup at some point.

Trainer Mark Mann said it would be ''premature at this point'' to say surgery would be necessary, and ''we fully expect him to play again in the 2005 season.'' Griffey took some swings yesterday and might be ready to at least pinch-hit on Friday. ''The MRI showed nothing like what he had a couple of years ago with his ankle,'' Mann said. ''It's not as if he pulled it off the bone. It does show inflammation in the area. A strain by definition does involve inflammation of the tissue, and it can be associated with a tear.'' That doesn't sound especially encouraging. Sep. 7 - 2:20 pm et

Ken Griffey Jr. - OF - Reds

A source told the Dayton Daily News, that Ken Griffey Jr. actually pulled part of a tendon off the bone while hurting his foot on Sunday.

''Potentially a serious situation, potentially a season-ending injury,'' the source said. Griffey's foot will be treated with anti-inflammatories for the next couple of days. He might return this weekend as a pinch-hitter or even a center fielder, but if there's continued soreness, he could be shut down. Sep. 7 - 12:49 pm et
