Mexico City hosts the 49ers and Cardinals this Sunday

Featured Replies

It's the first regular season NFL game ever played in another country, Arizona gave up a home game for it to be hosted in Mexico City. It's not like they lost home field advantage or anything anyways :lol .

If the NFL wanted to do this little experiment, it would have made more sense to give the Saints one of their home games in Mexico City.

except this was decided well in advance of the hurricane

not usually the smartest thing to give up a home game ... but SF wouldn't of been a good draw here, it's a beatable team and by shifting this home game to mexico city and providing the interest that could create in the area the hopes were to build ticket sales for the new stadium

instead the cards are 0-3 ...... interest is slim ....... fans are upset that they lose their advantage on this game and the organization looks like they are selling out a game to just turn a buck

They should have one in England or Germany instead. Have it following a bye week and it could be workable. Makes more sense since the English and Germans have more money anyway.

I don't think the English would be all too interested in American Football. Maybe the Germans.

You're right. The Germans really like the sport for some reason, but I was thinking England only because of the whole language thing.

Arizona and San Fran... doesn't get much better than that.

The NFL heads must assume Mexicans like second rate crap. Although, if they wanted that, they should have made it the Packers/Browns matchup. Lambeau homefield advantage my ass!

*goes to Don Cheadle's house and rips down all his Packers posters*

Don Cheadle's a Packers fan?

Anyway, if the NFL was smart they would have waited for the Chargers to play the Cardinals. Who gets homefield in that game?

I think it's a home game for the Cardinals.

Supposedly the most popular teams in Mexico are Miami, Dallas, Pittsburgh, and Oakland.
