August 17, 200323 yr I was just thinking today about casey he would fit perfect because he is a lefty with pop,so i was thinking what about if we can somehow get casey(is he on waivers?)and send lee to the minors so he can recuperate and maybe get better,so anyone think we can get casey?(please if you are gonna write something stupid then keep it to yourself). :thumbup
August 17, 200323 yr Don't laugh. The Sean Casey idea isn't practical because of his contract, but Lee isn't right. I didn't see any of the game last night so maybe he's swinging the bat better but he's 5-33 with no extra base hits and 1 RBI since the injury. Maybe he does need to go on the DL (rather than the minors) to recuperate. Maybe this thing is going to mess him up for the rest of the season. In which case, looking for a replacement for the rest of the year isn't that far-fetched.
August 17, 200323 yr lol. Sean Casey. lol. Very mature and polite. Cut Lowell a break. He was throwing out an idea that wasn't practical but I've heard worse. So we can't criticize the players but you can laugh at the posters?
August 17, 200323 yr It's not a BAD idea per se, just a little far fetched. I don't think Casey would clear waivers. Lee does appear to be struggling a bit since his injury, and the minors aren't the answer right now, but maybe the DL is...but only DLee knows how he feels...
August 17, 200323 yr why Casey is NOT an option: Sean Casey 1B CIN Signed Feb 2002 - 3 years/$20.4M 2003: $5.8M 2004: $6.8M 2005: $7.8M but not a bad idea Lowell
August 17, 200323 yr If we were going to get someone, it would have been Randal Simon (now in a Cubs uni).
August 17, 200323 yr Casey would be a good option he is worth almost the same as D.Lee and way better production than him. Casey has hit more than .300 the past 3 or 4 years.
August 17, 200323 yr :thumbdown I think Lee will break out of this slump before the season's end. If we trade for Casey, the Reds are going to want some minor league pitching in return. After Dontrelle Willis came up earlier this year and transformed the Marlins, I do not feel like giving up our young pitching to anybody. The Reds look to have a strong pitching staff down the road that they do not have to pay too much for right now. Casey is also, as pointed out, too expensive for us. Maybe somebody with some money can take Reds' Casey, but we aren't that person.
August 18, 200323 yr randall simon is good look at his 2002 stats or maybe it was 2001... i dunno ur right he is good, i looked up his stats after he bashed that sausage and wonder why he only gets publicity for hitting sausages not playing...cuz he puts up some good numberrs
