Haha, I'm applying because it I thought "what the heck I might as well send them my transcripts because it's a long weekend" yesterday when I was in the Guidance office yesterday. One of their essay topics is "Why did you choose to apply to UCF"? I wonder if I should write that essay. :mischief2

I was thinking about the "How has your family history, culture or environment influenced who you are?" question. I was wondering what you guys think: would it help or hurt if I wrote about something like history male pattern baldness? I can't use that topic because someone I know used it two years ago, but I was thinking something to that effect.

I know people who got into UF with a 940 and a 3. something gpa. Dont waste your time.

Not really good advice...

I had a 3.3 GPA and 1390 on my SAT...didn't get into UF....TWICE

FIU is my safety school (already admitted), but I aspire higher to FSU and Georgia Tech.

Georgia Tech is too expensive and has a highway running through the middle of the campus. I only applied to one out of state, UPitt, because they kept sending me mail telling me I'd probably get a scholarship. (seriously I got at least two letters a week from them until I applied)

If you come to Pitt, you'll have to deal with Wannschmuck and his lovers around here (although patience with him may finally be wearing thin).

Then again, you can always hang with me :mischief

did you blow off the essay?

do you have a criminal record?

did your guidance counselor not like you?

not getting you into UF is like criminal neglect on his/her part. you're a million times more qualified than some of the people i've seen get into there....wow.

it's probably because I went to boarding school for 3 semesters...My grades skyrocketed there, and they probably figured it was because it was easy...

Truth is I turned over a new leaf in boarding school and busted my ass. I applied to UCF, FAU, UF, Vanderbilt, Emory and UNC Chapel Hill. I got in to FAU and UCF, got waitlisted at Emory, and was actually tentatively accepted into Vanderbilt (but they said that because they already filled their quota or something, they would waitlist me). I petitioned UF and actually drove to Gainesville, had an interview, and got rejected again.

I went to FAU for two years and applied again to UF, and also to FSU. Got into FSU, and UF rejected me for the third time.

I"m at FSU now--they appreciate my hard work.

So f*ck UF.
