October 10, 200521 yr the braves shouldnt have traded for farnsworth for one. once they find a bullpen they will be fine. they have an amazingly great young core out there. this is not the old braves...this braves team might actually do something once they figure a few things out, and i wouldnt put that past them one bit. Yeah, Farnsy's 1.91 ERA and 10/10 save chances since being traded really hurt Atlanta during the stretch run of the season for a team in dire need of a closer. Dont crucify him for one bad game, albeit in a huge situation. And Atlanta needs one other good pitcher to be a WS contending team. If this game would have gone back to Atlanta, Smoltz would have won them this series. he also pitched like garbage in the 2003 nlcs. My point is, that deal helped them out to win this division. Their bullpen was in shambles and Farnsworth was outstanding the whole regular season. Im sure the Braves would happily give up Roman Colon and Zach Miner for a shutdown closer they got to end out the year.

Farnsy has been lights out since they picked him up. In fact I think it was one of the best trade deadline pickups by a team who desperatley had alot of questions in the bullpen. Def gave them a rock in the bullpen they didnt have before. Sucks he had to have a bad game in the most crucial point of the year. Down with the Braves in 06!
