Hey, if you are looking for a decent sci-fi movie, go see this. I went in thinking it would probably be a waste but hoping to at least be slightly entertained. It was actually really good!

I don't want to say too much about it until a couple of you have seen it...

I caught a matinee of this movie because I needed to kill a few hours and I absolutely loved it. I dont know how the TV series this how was based on only lasted one season.

I thought the cast was great, some great dark humor along with great special effects and some cool battle sequences.

Nathan Fillion, the lead was fan-f***ing-tastic in this film, he was awesome and made this movie so fun to watch.

It is sad to me that a great sci-fi movie like this can bomb at hte box office but the vastly overrated SW EP. 1-3 can gross hundreds of millions.

I came in with 0 expectations and came out with a big grin on my face. Sadly, this will probably be the last we see of the cre of the Serenity because of its poor showing at the Box Office.

I haven't seen it yet, but anything that comes out of the mind of Joss Whedon is pure gold(Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel).

The television series that the movie was based on, "Firefly", was a great show, in my opinion. The storyline is exactly the same (the movie plot perfectly complements the tv show). It's cool to see how the cast acts in on tv compared to the movie--

ABSOLUTELY IDENTICAL.

Nobody tries to beautify or glamourize the cast. The special effects, accents, attitude and lame jokes are all the same. I love it!

Very well done, and I would definitely see a sequel (which I think they should do).

PS-The tv show gets more in depth about Anora's 'profession' as a Companion :mischief

I saw Serenity not having watched the tv show and it was ok. The first hour was a bit slow, but the second hour really moved quick with some great fight scenes by the psychic girl. There were a few places where I thought the dialogue was a bit hokey and didn't work. One thought that echoed in my head as I watched the movie was: "Were the characters as 2 dimensional on tv?"

Fans of the show will probably really enjoy this movie. As an outsider to Firefly, I honestly gave this **1/2 out of 4. A tighter, faster first hour and perhaps adding some character development (I really wanted to learn about these ppl and perhaps see them grow as characters by the end of the movie) are my only critiques.

My friend Peter (huge Firefly fan and saw the sneak preview of Serenity and has seen it 5 times since :plain) said that it's supposed to be a trilogy. Now, it was pretty bad at the box office, so I'm not sure where they go from here...but that was the intention.

It was a great movie though...and I started watching Firefly this weekend.

Something tells me that the box office earnings aren't the only source of revenue for the production company...I can almost guarantee you that dvd sales of Firefly skyrocketed since Serenity came out, and that alone (it's like 30 bucks for the season) gives them a good profit.

You really should see 'Firefly' if you want to know more a bout the characters.

And it's one of those fangeek types of things where everyone who was into the show will buy the movie DVD. I'm not making fun of fangeeks, either--I was a big Angel fan. I'm sure this will cut a profit, so if Whedon wants to keep it going, then he will. And, BTW, this movie's been fangeeked up to #125 on IMDB's Top 250 all time. I definitely want to see it, but I'm sure it's not happening, at least not in theaters.

I thought it was terrible.
