October 27, 200521 yr It will most likely become Tropical Storm Beta and drench Nicaragua and the other countries of the 'intercontinental connector'. Still, noteworthy because we're already making history...
October 27, 200521 yr Author There's already a tropical storm Alpha. This would be Beta. Oh wow, thanks for pointing that out. It's 4am, I'm allowed to let something slip once in a while.
October 27, 200521 yr I'm just glad it's not going to pose a threat around here but sucks for those countries.
October 27, 200521 yr This morning's discussion says Beta *could* become a hurricance before making landfall in Nicaragua.
October 27, 200521 yr ya thats why texas is god's country. we dont get pwned monthly by hurricanes seemingly.

October 27, 200521 yr Author I still think there is going to be one more hurricane that threatens the US coast...Call me a pessimist, but I don't see a quiet Carribbean/Gulf for an entire month.

Ah, but as bad as things have been--they could have been worse...It's almost inevitable that in this current warm water cycle (I dunno how many years it's supposed to last) that South Florida is going to be hit again, and possibly by something bigger and stronger.
October 27, 200521 yr Beta is getting it's act together nicely today. Looks like we're going to get our 13th Hurricane of the season.
October 27, 200521 yr Author Wow, it's definitely getting organized. It has the signature hurricane spin.
October 28, 200521 yr Would not be suprised to see us get two more storms. Looks like Beta has the potential to be a mass killer. Now the question will come up if they retire the name if it turns out to be our worst fears. We should see Gamma by the end of the week from Wave investigation 91L. Wouldn't be suprised to see this one either ram into Belize or take a path towards the eastern seaboard.

Will you be quoting yourself if it impacts Maine? I've got a bold prediction...a National League team will get to the 2006 World Series.

October 30, 200521 yr This could be very bad news for the people of Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and southern Mexico. This region was absolutely drenched by Stan with widespread flooding. This could be round 2.
