November 3, 200520 yr I agree completely with 2003's assessment of the infield grass. It was atrocious. With as much sun and rain that we get in South Florida, just how in the world can 1/2 the infield be brown and patchy? The condition of the infield probably cost JP 10 or 20 points on his BA. Not only was it not favorable for bunting, but the overall speed was a problem as well. For a team whose top two guys depend on infield hits you'd think the team would help them out by slowing it down a bit.

With as much sun and rain that we get in South Florida, just how in the world can 1/2 the infield be brown and patchy? The only two things I can come up with are... 1) Maybe too much sun. The Dolphins turf is beautful during the winter when the sun isn't as strong. 2) For $$$ reasons the field doesn't get the proper treatment (water). This theory is debunked though if they pump their water up from the aquifer like most homes in South Fla. I know it takes a sh*tload of water during the summers to keep my grass properly hydrated.
November 3, 200520 yr Luis Castillo had no problem adapting to the grass. In fact he had one of his better years. Why even bother excusing Pierre? Players must adapt. There is no fair in sporting competitions. The opposing team is not going to take it soft against someone. His own team isn't going to go out of their way for such a small gain for one single player. I don't understand why this is such an issue for you unless you are having a hard time coming to terms with the mortality of a certain player you like.

That's because Castillo's game and job are much different than Pierre's. Just a broken freakin' record aren't you Rferry... Like a five year old who just can't admit he's wrong.
