Damn, would Sanders have been a good move?

Featured Replies

... sorry guys, I think Sanders might have been actually an improvement over Cabrera.. That guy is doing some surprising stuff. Sure fooled me and just about everybody else earlier.

hit 2 homers today and a grand slam.. for 29 for the year. I wish he would have had these numbers before the break.

He must still be available on waivers too

The thing about Sanders....He is extremely streaky.

He was very hot in April and has been pretty much on ice until his recent hot streak in the past couple of weeks.

Then again he has been on a playoff team for how many years in a row now?

After this season we're back to thinking about the future. Cabrera will end upthe future. I'm still happy with the Marlins just the way they are. He is too streaky for my taste, and he might not be so good in the Pro. Beinfest knows what he's doing, although it does sound nice to have Sanders...

Cabrera- Future 40 HR power IMO

Willis- Future 20 game winner

Stokes- Future great first basemen

Beckett- All- Star caliber great future #1 starter

Allison-....Good future starter

Bump- good setup man that will be part of our future

and so on....i think we'll be a good team in the future

Superman is the answer.....no need to try and tread on him now when he is still performing (unlike the rest of the team). He might never be a true 5 tool player because he isn't the fastest mofo on legs, but he will keep hitting for average and nice power. He has a cannon already and it can only get better as he learns the position more. And hes already shown flashes of gold glove potential. Stick with the kid.

nope, he doesn't have a gun. He has a average arm thats been deadly accurate thus far. Encarnacion has a gun.

I know the reason why you all say this. I had a debate in the other board about this too.

Please dont drag me back into this... from a scale of 0-80 Cabrera probably has a 55. Encarnacion in scouting reports is said to have around 78. Its fairly obvious just by watching Cabrera throw too. Theres more but I'm trying not going to get into this again....

Ramp, I can tell you never played past little league..

You keep showing how much of a dreamer you are juanky.

Cabrera does not have a cannon. He has a regular arm that is decently accurate. As of now.

This is the same guy that says Ichiro has a better arm than Roberto Clemente. Sad really.

Did you see his throw yesterday? Almost got the man at second on a play that wasn't even supposed to be close. s*** you need to re-evaluate the way you judge arms.

  • Author

Nope I havent seen his play yesterday, but Cabrera does not have a strong arm. It is OBVIOUS.

again, you are a dreamer. Just because your daddy says Clemente has the best arm ever doesnt mean he did. Ive read and seen video about Clemente and Ichiro. Nothing touches Ichiro. The guy is not possibly human. You dont know the game man.

No, I don't go by my dad's experience about baseball. We don't even talk about it. I've seen quite a few games Clemente played in, even some of his lesser outings. No one ran on Clemente. He didn't have a cannon, he had a f***ing stinger missile. He has pinpoint accurate, and he got his man everytime. His right arm was the best arm baseball has ever seen. Ichiro might not have been the second best arm even in the outfield, because Pops Stargell had a gun back in the day as well.

And what is obvious is that you need to re-evalute your arm studying skills because Cabrera has a gun. Theres no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

  • Author

you dont understand... Stargell, clemente are HUMAN. Ichiro is NOT HUMAN. The throws he makes, velocity wise and accuracy wise, are not possible for humans to make.

get over yourself. You are wrong. I dont know what ichiro's exact velocity is on his throws from first to third are, but im guessing at LEAST 100 mph. Why dont you write to Beradino about this or Lebatard. They are both desperate writers and will chat with you if you email them.

listen kid, dedicate a good part of your life to playing the game and playing alongside some great players and you will see what I'm talking about.

you have got to be kidding me.....

first of all, i played 1st and OF in high school but thats besides the point

Cabs has a gun, why do you think you are above everyone else because you dont see this?

instead of disagreeing(sp?) with everyone on this board, why dont you WATCH A DAMN GAME.... Cabs' arm is awesome, he is making 1 hop throws from the warning track and strikes from LF.... come on

and how are you even saying Ichiro isnt human, we all know what you mean, but you keep 'going there' and saying "he is not human".... what kind of argument is that?

dont assume

Hehe, I will never see what you are talking about since you aren't talking about anything intelligent. Thats your big arguement for Ichiro having the best arm? That he isn't human? And here I was thinking Japanese people were from the earth :mischief2

Clemente > Ichiro

No questions about it. Its not even close. I bet on a sacrifice fly to right field, Clemente would gun down Ichiro at the plate but Ichiro wouldn't get Clemente.

  • Author

listen man, I was just saying he isnt human because his plays are hard to understand. They are that special.

I'm guessing you've never seen him throw. Just say it already

Im through with debating on this tired subject. I'm arguing with a kid that doesn't understand the game.

and I know your daddy exaggerates Clemente's arm to you before bedtime every night, but truth is, Ichiro has the best arm, EVER. Ichiro's throws are like Jordan dunking from the 3 point line. Clemente's throws are like Jordan dunking from the free throw line.

No, Clemente's throws are Jordan dunking from the half point line (see, Space Jam). And if Ichiro isn't human, then Clemente was a Q.

castillo/renteria this routine of yours gets really stale. who are these future hall-of-famers you've played major league baseball with that makes your opinion so much more valid than anyone else's? apparently you played 2nd base and were turning double-plays with ozzie smith or something and meanwhile no one else has ever watched a major league baseball game before.

there is no one else on this entire board who would judge Cabrera's arm as only average based on what we've seen since he's been up here. no one. some people may overrate it a bit, but it's a good arm. an average arm is preston wilson or cliff floyd.

to say that ichiro's arm is measurably better than say, Vlad Guerrero's arm is not being objective. Vlad also happens to have more outfield assists over the past 6 years than any other major leaguer. It may not mean he's better, but he certainly throws out more people who test him.

oh, and get over yourself already.
