November 22, 200520 yr So lets say the Marlins are fully ready to compete again in 2007 or 2008, what are we looking at for a starting 5?? Dontrelle Vargas Olsen Johnson Volstad Kensing?? Allison??
November 22, 200520 yr Willis, Johnson, Olsen, Volstad, and Vargas seems most likely. Tankersly, Bostick, Resop, Messenger, Sanchez, Kensing(and Petit if we do trade w/the Mets) seems the most likely bullpen.

In 2007 Willis, Sanchez, Olsen, Johnson, Vargas. Kensing is moving to the bull pen and Volstad will most likely be ready in 2008 and the other hundreds of pitching prospects we have drafted... who knows?
November 22, 200520 yr Author I went to high school with Volstad last year in Palm Beach Gardens, he was a freaking stud for our team!!! He's a tall kid with a killer mixup...he goes to all the varsity football games this year with his Marlins cap on...its great!!!
November 22, 200520 yr Don't forget Aaron Thompson. The Marlins other first round draft pick. Baseball America says he actually has a HIGHER CEILING than Volstad and was considered the most polished HS pitcher in the 2005 draft.
November 22, 200520 yr No one is forgetting Thompson, what people ARE saying about Volstad is that he is the nearest to being MLB ready. He is IMO a LIKELY rotation pitcher for the Fish in 2007, at the age of 20.
November 22, 200520 yr You can play this game all night if you want but if the Fish continue to sell, I suspect there will some more names to add to that list before they're done.
