August 27, 200322 yr http://www.gatorzone.com/overview/ yeah our bball is ocasionally dominant lmao sure buddy more boosters more fans more territory more money better facilities more coverage ill give you baseball, but you are bragging about 4 NCS in the 80s from a dirty program, ill give you cokers title, well won Do your math, there was one in 1991. That isn't the 80's. More boosters, more fans, so what? How many national titles? 0. Goose egg. Nada. Zip. Love. Neuf. A dirty program? Did we clip and make dirty hits after plays? No. We won clean, we played clean. In fact, the only penalties that would be called in games from the Johnson and Erickson Miami teams were Excessive Celebration. If this was the pros, no one would even be talking about the Canes as dirty. Look up anyone of the many times Miami blew a ranked opponent out of the water in the 80s. Penalty that was always called? Celebration. We didn't clip, make cheap hits, kick people while they were down. We celebrated too much, so we are dirty. Whats a dirty program? Showing up to a bowl game in fatigues? They learned not to do that anymore, they lost the game (not the team's fault, different story for a different time). Oh and Furman, we got blown out by a team that would mak the Elite Eight and came oh so close to being a Final Four team. Creighton? Lost next round, by quite a bit.
August 27, 200322 yr WTF do you mean zero NCS? are you not reading???!!! 185!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 FBS i said the canes are suprerior in fb and baseball PLEASE DONT COMPARE UF BBALL TO UMS please theres REALLY no comparison,at all were a national title contender every year and boosters, etc is very important, that makes a program face it, overall, our Athletic dept. is better, and academic institution is 2
August 27, 200322 yr Again, 0 basketball national titles like I have been saying the whole entire time. We are better in football and baseball. Two out of three major sports. And your athletic department is better how?
August 27, 200322 yr so no Nc's makes us equal that is so ignorant, its ridiculous, its WAYYYY superior like ive said a million times better facilities, more fans, alumni, money, media, territory all that comes into play games sell out in minutes you know why the sept 6 UM game is sold out right? go figure espn ranked us the number 1 media watched team in all three sports sportsline ranked us the jewel of the south, and number 3 place to watch FOOTBALL IN GENERAL!
August 28, 200322 yr ah UM-UF, what a rivalry, why did UF's AD take us off the schedule when they went to the SEC? they could've taken off another non-conference opponent. they deprived the younger fans like me and others on this board of a great rivalry. :banghead this is a f***ing rivalry
August 28, 200322 yr i dont see florida as a dominant power in football or baseball..... at least not to the level of miami.
August 28, 200322 yr so no Nc's makes us equal that is so ignorant, its ridiculous, its WAYYYY superior like ive said a million times better facilities, more fans, alumni, money, media, territory all that comes into play games sell out in minutes you know why the sept 6 UM game is sold out right? go figure espn ranked us the number 1 media watched team in all three sports sportsline ranked us the jewel of the south, and number 3 place to watch FOOTBALL IN GENERAL! You want to know why September 6th is sold out? Do you know why I am going to be there? Do you know why it is going to rock like no building in Miami has rocked since 2001? Because we are waiting for you sons of bitches. We have been waiting for you since I was two. We have been waiting for you, and bowls and games at the Swamp won't do us any good. We want blood and we want it at home. We want to embarass you on national television. We want to hear you squeel for mercy as we lift the Seminole War Canoe Loud and Proud. Its not sold out because you are the #1 college attraction. Um, not even close. That college is Notre Dame, no question about it. You know why its sold out? Because we f***ing hate you. Thats why. We hate you more than we hate FSU, more than we hate Va Tech and Boston College and Syracuse and all the Big East schools put together. More than we hate OSU and their buddy Terry Porter. We hate you, and we'll greet you with the same thunderous respect you would expect from an Ohio State team walking into the Big House. Get Ready son. Get Ready to be f***ed up. And then the game will start.
August 28, 200322 yr they're not. people try to talk about the fans, facilities, the actual schools and tuition and their dominance in basketball(over us). but the final numbers are 9 total national titles in the major sports to 1 national title in the major sports.

And then the game will start. Juanky, i sense anger coming from you Well, UM-UF was once a top 3 college football rivalry. At one point it was the rivalry among rivalries in college football. It will be up there again one day when the Gaytors decide to be competitive again. Rivalries are built on one of two things: deep friendship (tell me the best games of madden or pickup baseball aren't played against your best of buds) or deep hatred. Guess which one this is.
August 28, 200322 yr dude i was being sarcastic. i know these things. the reason this rivalry took time off is because they took us off theyre schedule when they went into the SEC because of the possibility of playing in an extra game (sec title), instead of taking someone else off the schedule. i want them to, i want them like i want FSU. im tired of all this cane bashing. "we have a better school, facilities, fans etc. etc., you had a dirty program". people always bring up the 80's and the battle fatigues when talking about this team, and they hate us for it. they cant stand those teams because those teams knew they were better than everyone, and they (the rest of the country) cant stand the idea of UM being back, and they have to bring up where they outshine us. or some ref cant stand us celebrating and has to throw a flag after the fireworks start. im sick of it. i really feel its an "us a against the world" situation, and i hope they come out and remind everyone who they are
August 28, 200322 yr there is a rivalry in texas that is pretty fierce also damn right, texas-texas a&m, texas-oklahoma (it counts). but im kinda partial to the ones down here
August 28, 200322 yr Best rivalries in college football? (No specific order) Texas-Texas A&M UM-UF UM-FSU FSU-UF Michigan-Notre Dame Michigan-OSU Michigan-Minnesota Oklahoma-Nebraska USC-UCLA Washington-Washington State Oregon-Oregon State And the list goes on and on..... God I love college football
August 28, 200322 yr thats a good list although i wouldnt put UM-UF on there since the series ends again after this year. but you can tell the tension is there living in Arizona for 4 years i can tell you that the ASU-UA rivalry is pretty big even though UA is really struggling. Oklahoma-Texas is pretty big, and the Iron bowl between Bama and Auburn is also great along with UF-Tennessee and the civil war in Oregon.
August 28, 200322 yr UM-UF has one of the most storied histories between rivalries in college football. UM's moving to the ACC will allow for Miami to have an extra game and the possibility of having this rivalry back full time increases even further. Even if they stopped playing for 6 years or w/e, they still belong on the list because of the historic and great games that have been played between the two.
August 28, 200322 yr lol, UM-UF...yah its a great rivalry...for UM...cuz their only other rival is UM-FSU. Florida-Georgia, Florida-Tennessee, Florida-Florida State, Florida-Auburn, etc. Until UM can actually create some rivals besides the 2 other in-state powers, then come back and complain about us not playing UM.
August 28, 200322 yr oh, and I never said that Miami's loss is bad. I dont make fun of any team for losing in the tournament, because the best team doesnt necessarily win, and anything can happen. Miami made the tournament. Good for them. UF made the tournament. Good for them. I'm simply saying that if the Gators were to either lose to Creighton by 30, or by a last second shot, I would rather they lose by a last second shot.
August 28, 200322 yr You obviously don't know you history, because UM-UF is an awesome rivalry. UM had more rivalries when they were independent, and they'll get some better ones in the ACC. And put us back on the schedule pussies. Because you know what? We STILL haven't gotten our revenge from the Gator Flop.
August 28, 200322 yr lol. Put you back on the schedule? I'm sorry, but UM-UF may have BEEN an "awesome" rivalry, but it isn't where UF-UT, and UF-FSU are now, or where UF-UGA ever was. So, whereas the Canes desperately attempt to get the Gators on the schedule (it's pretty weak when throughout the 90s, the Canes' toughest games seem to be non-conference...minus VaTech occasionally), the Gators must go through a grueling SEC schedule and then play FSU. Face it: The Canes need the rivalry more than the Gators do. If you don't see that, then you need to take your Orange and Green sunglasses off.
August 28, 200322 yr We've been wanting to put the rivalry on the schedule because we want to keep it going. We know our history. But the elf pussied out and that's all there is to it. And don't give me the BS about the SEC. FSU plays both every year, and as much as I hate Bobby Bowden if he can do it Doby the f***ing Elf could have.
August 28, 200322 yr throughout the 90s, Bowden has had 2 tough games consistently on his schedule: UM and UF. Florida had UT, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Arkansas/Alabama/Ole Miss/Mississippi State (it changes every 2 years because of the rotation), and FSU.
August 28, 200322 yr So Michigan is going to take Notre Dame off the schedule because they have a tough conference in the Big 10?
