He also told me they didnt deserve a stadium and not only did I tell him to Kiss my @ss but I also reminded him that the Marlins are the only team in this city to bring 2 championships home! KEEP WEARING YOUR STUFF GUYS!!!!!!!!! STAY PROUD!! Correct me if I am wrong, but the Dolphins have won 2 championships. And the Hurricanes have won 10 national championships between Football and Baseball, no?

December 10, 200520 yr The only times I ever heard any crap was at games mostly during the '98 - '02 seasons. Fans of the opposing teams would pile it on when they were winning. On the other hand, they got pretty quiet on those occasions when the Marlins managed to kick their butts. In all fairness, I also sometimes ended up seated next to opposing fans who were quite civil and struck up pleasant conversations about baseball that did not involve insults or any belittling of my team and even recognized some of our talent. But yeah, sometimes it was ugly and, usually, the drunker they were the nastier it got. Wearing Marlins stuff on the street I have never been a target of anything negative.

December 11, 200520 yr My mother took some flak when she went up to a Mets game this summer at Shea and she wore a Marlins jersey (they weren't playing the Marlins). Personally, I've never had someone belittle me for wearing Marlins gear. It is definitely low that someone talked trash about you wearing Marlins gear now. Talk about kicking a man (or woman) when they are down.

January 23, 200620 yr I have never been rediculed for being a fan. In Nj, I have a lot of freinds that are Yankees fans. They joke sometimes, I find it ironic that they joke at the wrong times though. for example, me and my freinds were playing wiffle ball over the summer one time. I brought my Marlins hat, one goes "What? What is this garbage man, your from NJ" in a joking way of couuurse. I told him "atleast I was proud of how my team did last night, how bout the yankees? Oh thats rights, you could not even survive half the game before the original roster was replaced by the back ups" - This was the day after we beat some team like 4-2 or 3, and the Yankees lost to the A's 12-0 It helps when you have the '03 season to defend yourself with down here. It's pretty ironic one of my freinds from who moved here like 3 yrs ago who moved from Atlanta lives here. He is a braves fan but hates Miguel for the "F*** the veterans" statement he made back in Sept. He respects the Marlins though. I think the worst time it was to be a fish fan was during the Firesale. My freinds loved attacking me there. One made a VERY convincing Photoshop ESPN.com home page article of Train getting traded. Anther one who was a mets fan later told me the Mets got Dolphin Stadium and Billy and joked about a lot.
January 23, 200620 yr I live in Miss. and I wear my Marlins gear all the time. Yea my professors give me hell about my marlins stuff too. People just look at me funny. And if they say something I just point to my World Series Champions shirt or cap that I have on. Even when we go to Braves games, I love wearing Marlins stuff and just having people look crazy at me. Espically after a win.
