August 28, 200323 yr I got slammed herein five weeks ago when I suggested bringing up Gerald Williams as a fourth outfielder (capable and experienced at all three positions and with Playoff and World Series experience.) He didn't have a good Spring with us and so the myopic among us assumed he was finished. This season with the "Topes he is hitting 300 (313 AB's), 20 doubles, 13 HR's, 15 Stolen Bases, 521 SLG%, 354 OBP. Tell me he doesn't belong here now!
August 28, 200323 yr He doesn't belong here now. They can bring him up Monday when the rosters expand and they don't have to demote or DL somebody.

August 28, 200323 yr good call Jburque. Also I haven't really been impressed with the job the Marlins' bat boy is doing lately. Gotta be a stud bat boy down in the minors somewhere they can call up to give this team the boost they need.
August 28, 200323 yr well, unfortunately, our drafts the past couple of years havent been as good as we would like to think. I haven't seen any batboys drafted early on. I mean, we might have gotten a diamond in the rough batboy in the late rounds, but I think that might be wishful thinking. We may have to look towards free agency in the fall. Is Dusty Baker's kid available? Or is he gonna ask for a lot of $?
August 28, 200323 yr Dusty's kid signed with the same agest that represents Allison. Asking way too much money. Besides, the word around the league is that Dusty's kid has a bad attitude and is only in it for the money.

Yeah, he'll probably get called up and be used as a defensive replacement/pinch runner. His experience won't hurt either. Based on his ML stats, he doesn't deserve to be up here. Based on his AAA stats, he does. It's not like he'll get many at-bats when he's up here anyway.

August 28, 200323 yr He is doing so good, i do think he belongs here even though he is too old but we have enough bench players we dont need another one.
