December 26, 200520 yr Apparently this is some big thing, though I had never heard of it in my life. It's in Bicentennial Park and tickets are already on sale for $55. The lineup for the show (two different groups, why I don't know), whose format I don't know at all (just found out about this actually): Sasha & Digweed Ferry Corsten Armin Van Buuren Deep Dish Steve Lawler Roger Sanchez Jimmy Van M Adam Freeland Stanton Warriors Freq Nasty Evil 9 Rennie Pilgrem Uberzone K-Swing + more to be announced Nine Inch Nails Rob Zombie Avenged Sevenfold Coheed & Cambria Rise Against Shinedown Flyleaf Lacuna Coil Bullet For My Valentine I'm anxious to go because of Coheed and Avenged. Never heard much of NIN though what I have heard has been good. Let me see if I can dig up more info. Here's the flyer: Can buy tickets here.
December 26, 200520 yr It's two different days...March 18th and 19th. This is apparently the festival's first time in Miami. There's also one in England and one in Ireland. I don't know if it will stay here in future years, or move around the states, but considering the difficulty of securing grounds in new places, my guess is that if it does well here, it will stay here.
December 26, 200520 yr Seems like a trance festival from what I've found online. I'm guessing group 1 goes on Saturday and group 2 on Sunday. If both days have the same time specified (12 PM - 12 AM) then all the bands in the second group should get quite a bit of time to play.
December 26, 200520 yr The first part of that list is huge name international DJ's and producers in the electronic music scene. Ill be at this party with bells on.
December 27, 200520 yr Yeah, the Saturday batch should be a lot of fun. I recognize Sasha and Digweed, and Armin Van Buren. If I had to choose one day, it'd probably be that one. I'd hold off on buying tix until more info is released, though. Other websites have talked about this as a 2-day thing, but the ticket site lists it as Saturday only. Also, I figured this would be a good place to point out the existence of the Langerado festival. It's the weekend before this Global Gathering thing. I'm totally spoiled on Coachella lineups so I probably won't be hitting this up, but it's a pretty good opportunity to see some cool bands of the sort that pretty much never come here (i.e., Wilco, Flaming Lips). I'd also recommend RJD2, Lyrics Born, and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah from the lineup, but I'm not that familiar with the other groups. Ben Harper is headlining, if you're into him.
January 24, 200620 yr Bump time, more news is out. First off, the site There are going to be four stages, B-Live Beach Stage (Bicentennial Park), Downtown Stage, Biscayne Tent, and Global Beats Tent. There's a bunch of info on the site about the latter three. Now, the one I care about, has this lineup for the entire day: Nine Inch Nails (headliner) Rob Zombie Avenged Sevenfold Coheed and Cambria Alkaline Trio Rise Against Killswitch Engage Shinedown Flyleaf Lacuna Coil Bullet for My Valentine $55 dollars for normal admission, and $200 for VIP. I can't wait for it, because Avenged Sevenfold is amazing and Coheed had one of my favorite CDs of the past year. I'm going to start giving the other bands a listen so I know what I'm up for.
