December 26, 200520 yr MNF goes to ESPN next season. yeah... this is pretty old news. There were reports about this going to happen dating back to '03.
December 27, 200520 yr I think it will do pretty well on ESPN... I wonder if they will keep the whole theme with the song before each MNF game??

December 27, 200520 yr Unfortunately, Joe Theisman moves along with ESPN to MNF next year DAMMIT. I'm going to pull my f***ing hair out.
December 27, 200520 yr ABC was hemorrhaging money on MNF. And MNF just didn't have the same must-see aura surrounding it anymore to justify losing that kind of money on it. The Sunday night game will become the big game. NBC will have the ability to chose between 2 games, I think, so they should have a strong matchup most nights. Only problem is there's so much good programming on other networks on Sunday night. Tivo's will be humming all over the country. I can't stand the ESPN Sunday Night crew, so I'm glad things are getting mixed up. As I understand it, Al Michaels will still be calling the Monday Night game, which will lend a little extra credibility to the game.
December 27, 200520 yr I like the ESPN Sunday Night crew, fact is that Monday Night Football became a circus. It has no real half-time studio show and provides affiliates little to no newscast cut-ins. It will be better served having MNF continue on ESPN with Michaels and Theisman on the call along with Kolber on the sidelines. NBC has work to do. Collinsworth and Madden....ok, but Costas better not be behind the mike. Hammond is meh for the NFL, but what about stealing someone from FOX or CBS?
