Almonte is not stupid, the plan for expos was not to give lowell pitches to hit, he did just that, except HE hit HIm. You forget that the Expos bullpen sucks. You could make a case why put Biddle in when the game is on the line, but he is their closer. Almonte has electric stuff and was lights out yesterday and for some parts today. Marlins cant really touch him. you need to learn more about baseball rune. BTW what are you doing in a marlins board if youre a phillies fan? are you paid to post here?
August 31, 200323 yr Why would you hit a slumping Lowell in a 4-0 game Rune? Doesn't make much sense does it? It seems cowardly any way you put it. Almonte cannot get away with this, MLB has to do something. Cape, In your book MLB always has to do something and they never do. Almonte never got a 6+ game suspension and THe Red Sox blowout was never overturned. Nothing will be done, simply based on the situation, your trying to come back in a game you still can win and you hit a guy on purpose. Their is no reason for him to throw at a guy and that's how MLB will see it, everytime something like this happens you make it out to look like The Pete Rose Scandal.

He is comftable with it already why move him out but i do not want to put mordy or fox there so we can put harris at 3rd. He played some games at 3rd with the brewers....

Just Grow Up instead of using cheap ways to make your self big. You can babble all you want about how Almonte can control his pitches but if that's the case why did he basically gift wrap a pitch to Byrd a few nights back when The Catcher's glove was nowhere near The Pitch. Almonte has always been wild but of course you have to look for ways to put blame on someone, it's never a wild pitch. I must remember that too you all pitchers are the next best thing since Cy Young. Hey maybe Rich Ankiel really shouldn't be in The Minors maybe he too was just trying to get payback. Almonte is a horrible pitcher, it's that simple. Their's a reason he was cut from a team with a joke of a bullpen.
August 31, 200323 yr Rune, there was a reason for him to throw at Lowell. He is our best player. The plan was to injury Lowell to reduce our chances at attaining the Wild Card. The Marlins players and Almonte also have bad blood between each other. Another reason for Almonte to hit Lowell. Sadly there is nothing that MLB can do because There is no proof he did it on purpose(Even though it is very clear he did.).

Cape, A five game suspension for a starting pitcher is usually the norm mainly because he would only miss one of those games. But like I said, If MLB looks at it, they will not look at the pitch more about The Circumstances something that is in Almonte's behalf. THe Sox incident looked a lot more suspicious due to the score of the game at the time it was done but seeing that this is the second time it will hurt him but... If he was not given a serious suspension for The Sox's game, I doubt he would get anything over three games.
