Stay with what we have? Put Cabrera at 3B and trade for an OFer? or try and get a 3B?

 

I think the best scenerio would be to get a good OFer and stick Miguel at 3B. Reggie Sanders maybe? Tony Batistia is also made it through waivers didnt he?\

 

Hopefully Mike is OK, But but the looks(and sound) of things, It didn't look very promising.

If worst comes to worst, send him to the 15-day DL and call-up another outfielder (Williams/Nunez) so they could be eligible for the postseason if need be. Hopefully it will not be that bad.

As I said in the game thread, I can't watch it from where I am so I don't know and can't guess on how severe it is. I realize how important Mike is to this team, but also have to deal with the reality of the situation. The best we can hope for now is that he only misses a couple days.

It looked like Almonte did it on purpose. He threw it up and in very quickly as to not let Lowell get out of the way. This was the same Almonte who in the 25 run blowout in boston who hit Fox (I believe it was).

Put it this way: It sounded like an 8 ball (from game of pool) thrown against a brick wall. Thats how it sounded. Then Lowell grabs his hand and is in tremendous pain and is on the ground then walks to the dugout holding his hand probably holding back tears on the way.

Their's a reason he's with a new team all the time, he has no control. I didn't see it but I doubt he would hit a guy to put him on when his team is behind.

Cabrera should remain in Left-Field because yes, he is getting very comfortable there. Mabye Mordi could get a large portion of the starts,wouldn't start Harris because he isn't made to start, pinch hitting is his speciality.

oh come on man, yea hes been in a slump for 2.5 weeks but the marlins have been losing for 2.5 weeks. He was also hammering the ball today and having good ABs. He was on his way to a good september.

 

Without Lowell, Marlins cannot contend, period. They wont have that 4th hitter that they need. Even if the Marlins get lucky and make the playoffs, they will be swept in the first round without lowell. Thats the best scenerio.

^Most likely scenario. We have Mordi/(gulp) Fox play 3B and keep Cabs in LF.

But I think Mikey may have had a hit that sounded worse than it was.

Mordi is no good for a starter. We will need a third baseman with some pop. Or at least a left fielder since Cabs can play third.

Ramp, when it comes to situations like this, you wouldnt know. You're better with the Bill james stuff and stat analysis.

 

Almonte did it on purpose. It was clear. Expos planned to not let Lowell beat them and Almonte wanted to drill him. Almonte is known for this man. He threw a 95 mph fastball basically up and in against the Marlins biggest HR threat. And Almonte knew he could get away with it without ejection. Think like a criminal ramp, if you can do it and get away with it while getting the "most bang for your buck" you hit the most productive hitter the fish have, even though he was in a slump.

Once Lowell gets Back this season if he Does... you can switch Cabs and Encar with Reggie every few starts depending on how there doing....

YOur team is down, your team is also contending for the wildcard, A game you NEED to win. So what the hell lets put a guy on while your team is down. I know Almonte is stupid but do you really think he would put a man on when his team is trying to make a comeback?

Why would you hit a slumping Lowell in a 4-0 game Rune? Doesn't make much sense does it? It seems cowardly any way you put it.

 

Almonte cannot get away with this, MLB has to do something.
