January 6, 200620 yr I love how David Carr is chopped liver now. I'd bet that if he lands on a team with decent skill players and a line that can block someone, he could put up near Pro Bowl numbers. Of course, the Texans could become that team if they addressed the o-line seriously this offseason.
January 7, 200620 yr Honestly, in a draft class that isn't very deep, there are two legit number one overall picks. It'll come down to which the Texans (or whoever is drafting) wants. If it is after all Houston, they'll take Bush and we'll see what else happens. I might be alone on this, but I think Leinart is just a glorified Ken Dorsey. You are not alone, they seem to be near clones imo. Average arm, great wide recievers, numbers based on long lobs. I admit that I didn't get to see Leinhart alot during the season and so the Rose Bowl was my main viewing opportunity but I saw a couple nice bullets from him which makes me wonder where this "average arm" label comes from. Someone please enlighten me.
January 7, 200620 yr The Houston Texans will select USC running back Reggie Bush with the No. 1 pick in this April's NFL draft, pending the formality of Bush announcing that he is turning pro, team and league sources told Chris Mortensen. Almost nothing will change that course, the sources say, even after the Texans received word Friday from an intermediary representing Texas quarterback Vince Young that the Houston native is leaning strongly to also going pro. The Texans will pick up an $8 million option on quarterback David Carr, who was the expansion team's first draft pick four years ago. Texans owner Bob McNair made the decision after getting extensive evaluations from various sources that strongly endorsed Carr, including a favorable report from Dan Reeves, the former longtime NFL coach hired last month as a consultant. USC's Matt Leinart, who could have been the first pick a year ago had he turned pro after his junior season, still remains the consensus top quarterback in the NFL draft, even if Young comes out. For Leinart, he is likely to be the choice of the New Orleans Saints at No. 2 with Young projected to the Tennessee Titans at No. 3. Young would be mentored by Titans quarterback Steve McNair, who is hoping to sign a new contract with the club for the 2006 season. Leinart also would be desirable to Tennessee, where his former USC offensive coordinator Norm Chow is now calling plays for the Titans. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2283797

January 8, 200620 yr Leinart might be a good quarterback but he will never be a great quarterback. i really like the resemblence you guys made with dorsey and leinart...ah i miss dorsey in that UM uniform. anyway the pick is reggie bush no doubt in my mind he will be wearing a texan uniform next season. btw i believe david carr can play. i think he has the skills along with aaron brooks they just need a change of scenery.
