In area of the Outfield we really are in bad shape
January 9, 200620 yr interesting post. but better to take off the caps lock we can read regular type. Plus it should be inthe minor league section. I promise you will get plenty of folks talking of it there Still, I love reading stuff like this about the minors.
January 9, 200620 yr What about Kris Harvey? I don't see him and all indications are he is on the fastrack for a LF job as early as 07 or 08. And I was just thinking today how we should have held firm for Lastings Milledge- even if we traded Delgado and LoDuca for just him....to have Olsen, Anibel, Josh J, Vargas...plus Milledge and Hermedia Whammy!

I am pretty sure they would not trade him. If I find out that we turned him down over Petit I will go balistic. If we're smart, we should still be able to acquire a stud CF in the next year by offering one or two of our pitchers, and I mean like Mitre and Johnson or Vargas and one of our lesser regarded 1st round pitchers from last year. I would find it almost unfathomable that we could have gotten Lastings and didn't. "Inconceivable!" "I do not think that means what you think it means"
January 10, 200620 yr Author I wish i had the link I believe I read it in the Sun Sentinel or the Herald that Milledge was offered in the trade discussions but that Beinfest liked the prospects of the pitchers much more...the impression I had was that it wasn't even close.
