We have an abundance pitchers in all levels of our farm system but we lack outfielders which can be called real prospects

Albuquerque Isotopes

Matt Padgett OF L L 6' 2" 215 28 07-22-1977

Mark Little OF R R 6' 0" 190 33 07-11-1972

Mike Colangelo OF R R 6' 1" 200 29 10-22-1976

Admin Barnes OF L L 6' 1" 195 31 07-23-1974

Eric Reed OF L L 5' 11" 170 25 12-02-1980

Jason Romano OF R R 6' 0" 185 26 06-24-1979

only Reed is a significant prospect

Carolina Mudcats

Juan Carlos Muniz OF R R 6' 1" 175 29 01-28-1976

James Shanks OF R R 6' 0" 190 26 01-26-1979

Reggie Abercrombie OF R R 6' 3" 225 25 07-15-1980

Angel Molina OF R R 6' 2" 226 24 11-04-1981

Molina is a nice prospect...Abercrombie has an outside chance of being a major league player

Jupiter Hammerheads

Andy Rohleder OF R R 6' 0" 195 25 02-27-1980

Alejandro De Aza OF L L 6' 0" 174 21 04-11-1984

De Aza is a mid level prospect about 2 yrs away, has handled the bat nicely 34 sb .370 obp

Greensboro Grasshoppers

J.T. Restko OF R R 6' 5" 190 21 12-15-1984

Brett Carroll OF R R 6' 0" 190 23 10-03-1982

Jai Miller OF R R 6' 4" 195 20 01-17-1985

Xavier Arroyo OF R R 6' 1" 175 21 08-09-1984

Jared Gaston OF R R 6' 2" 195 21 04-15-1984

Justin Webb OF R R 6' 1" 175 23 11-05-1982

JT Restko is the only one who played well last season...Carroll had 18 hrs...Arroyo was the highest rated prospect but had a horrible season

This leads us low A and Rookie league which would yet be too early to really gauge prospect level. In area of the Outfield we really are in bad shape

What about Kris Harvey?

I don't see him and all indications are he is on the fastrack for a LF job as early as 07 or 08.

And I was just thinking today how we should have held firm for Lastings Milledge- even if we traded Delgado and LoDuca for just him....to have Olsen, Anibel, Josh J, Vargas...plus Milledge and Hermedia

Whammy!

Milledge was offered to the Marlins but Beinfest preferred the pitchers We got in the Delgado trade

I agree Kris Harvey is our best OF prospect after Hermida but he is on the Jamestown roster

Not that I don't believe you, but are you sure we were offered Lastings? I am pretty sure they would not trade him. If I find out that we turned him down over Petit I will go balistic.

If we're smart, we should still be able to acquire a stud CF in the next year by offering one or two of our pitchers, and I mean like Mitre and Johnson or Vargas and one of our lesser regarded 1st round pitchers from last year.

I would find it almost unfathomable that we could have gotten Lastings and didn't.

"Inconceivable!"

"I do not think that means what you think it means"

I wish i had the link I believe I read it in the Sun Sentinel or the Herald that Milledge was offered in the trade discussions but that Beinfest liked the prospects of the pitchers much more...the impression I had was that it wasn't even close. I read this about 3 weeks ago

Ya i remember it 2 i think your right and i went ballistic 2
