February 22, 200620 yr Awesome episode Someone discuss... I can't believe the complete lack of talk about this amazing show.
February 24, 200620 yr Man I love the Shield. This year has been pretty good. I have watched since the first episode ever. Kinda saw the Claudette thing coming.... Surely Vicks not turning around all of a sudden? Hey next thursday im here after the show.
February 27, 200620 yr Author I still get the feeling Shane is going to mess everything up once Anthony Edwards gets back in the mix
March 1, 200620 yr I wish the whole strike would have F&%$en shot Kauvanaugh right then. Man i was so mad.
March 1, 200620 yr The last 10 minutes of the past two episodes have been some of the most intense in the history of this show. I like what Shawn Ryan did with this episode, shown pretty much entirely from the perspective of Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh flipping out like that I definitely didn't forsee. Just an awesome episode.
March 1, 200620 yr I love the fact that Kavanaugh is very intense, but i hated to see Lem in that cage. Vick just looked like he wanted Kavanaugh to just say something. I was also hoping that stupid informant would die in an explosion. I just despise her. Shes weak
June 7, 200620 yr Fantastic news: FX gave "The Shield" a new lease on life Monday, ordering a seventh and final season of the cop drama. The fate of the critically acclaimed series was uncertain heading into the second half of its sixth season in early 2007. Now those 10 episodes will be followed up by a fresh batch of 13 episodes to air in late 2007 or early 2008. The entire cast will return for the remaining 23 episodes, including Michael Chiklis, who plays the corrupt Detective Vic Mackey. Forest Whitaker, who joined the series this year, will return on a limited basis for the remainder of the sixth season. "The writers and I weren't quite ready to step away from these characters just yet," said Shawn Ryan, the show's creator and executive producer, who will return as showrunner. The additional episode order will bring "The Shield" to 88 at the end of its run. http://television.aol.com/news/article/_a/...9990010?cid=461

Promo on tonight during Rescue Me, my god I can't wait. Hate to ruin it for you but Season 5 is not completed yet. 10 episodes will air at the beginning of next year. They (Shawn Ryan) are calling that season 6, which I knew about. Season 5 had it's season finale this year. The sixth season, currently in production, will air early next year. FX ordered the sixth season -- then billing it as a set of bonus episodes -- last fall. http://www.comingsoon.net/news/tvnews.php?id=14861 7, like the article I already posted says, was up in the air until now.
June 8, 200620 yr Only 13 episodes aired this Winter and 21 were ordered. The production codes still say it's season 5. But it's possibly that they might have changed their minds. Anyways, Season 7 is scheduled to air late '07 to early '08 so I guess you were right... Just found this: When "The Shield" began its fifth season in January, it was widely assumed that it was entering its final season. In fact, the 10 episodes FX is now referring to as "season six" were originally conceived as a continuation of season five, following the "Sopranos" model of scheduling. However, Ryan says, "The writers and I weren't quite ready to step away from these characters just yet. We asked FX for an additional 13 episodes to conclude the show properly and, as always, the network graciously let us do what we thought was best for the show." Emmy winner Chiklis, who plays the amoral Detective Mackey, and the rest of the regular cast will return for both seasons. Forest Whitaker, who played a dogged Internal Affairs cop in season five, will reprise his role a few times next season. Season six of "The Shield" will air early next year, and production on the final episodes will begin in mid-2007.
