March 1, 200620 yr i need to know about some good restaurants in that area and other things i could do on a weekend. never been there. id appreciate any tips.
March 1, 200620 yr Depending on what part of Las Olas you're referring to: Las Olas Boulevard is an artsy, upscale sector with galleries and boutiques, as well as some cafes and restaurants, with tables out on the sidewalk (SoHo style) which is kind of nice. If you find those too pricey for you, there's a Cheesecake Factory around the corner. Las Olas Riverfront is more commercial. There's some shoppes, a movie theater, and a few restaurants including Hooters, Dan Marino's, and Ol? Ol? (Mexican place). There's a bar on the upper level overlooking the waterway which I found really cool. There's also a couple of clubs which open at night, but I've never been to those. A short walk from Riverfront, you'll also find the Historic District, the IMAX theater, the Museum of Science, and the Broward Performing Arts Center. Those are all great places to visit if you can spare the time.
March 2, 200620 yr It seems like every week, a restaurant on Las Olas goes out of business and a new one opens up.
March 2, 200620 yr If you find those too pricey for you, there's a Cheesecake Factory around the corner. Isnt that a oxy-moron? Cheesecake Factory and cheap in the same sentance?
March 3, 200620 yr If you find those too pricey for you, there's a Cheesecake Factory around the corner. Isnt that a oxy-moron? Cheesecake Factory and cheap in the same sentance? Actually, that'd be a paradox. Oxymoron = IcyHot Paradox = The silence is deafening Anyway, Cheesecake Factory isn't particularly expensive. You can eat a good meal for under $20.
March 3, 200620 yr Riverfront is definitely the place to be at night. I went to a place called red lounge, or red something I forgot, after that I don't even remember much except for snagging a bottle of Jager and givin out drinks to randoms on the street. I would say it's Coconut Grovesque, just much better.
