Cowboys | Owens to write a book

Mon, 20 Mar 2006 15:37:16 -0800

The Associated Press reports Dallas Cowboys WR Terrell Owens is writing a book about his time with the Philadelphia Eagles. He is writing a book called "Ineligible Receiver: The Real Story of My Journey from the Super Bowl to the Sidelines." The book is due in July. "Finally, the real T.O. story can be told," Simon & Schuster executive David Rosenthal said. "It's an important chapter in the long-term struggle for players' rights in the NFL."

Interesting to say the least. I would be interested to see what went on behind the scenes (whether true or not).

So you don't care if you're reading lies?

Wow.

I guess some people will read anything.

Everyone can ride TO and say whatever they want, but the man produces. I would take him on my team any day and I refuse to believe this locker room "chemistry" garbage that he is the "cause" of is the reason the Eagles stunk last year. Why is it when teams win they have great chemistry but when they lose they have bad. I'd love to hear once, "wow they are really bad, but they have great chemistry!", or "wow they are a great team, but they have horrible chemistry!". To me, it is one of the dumbest arguments in sports.

good point, the chemistry was great when the eagles were in the super bowl but when they lost all hell broke loose and he was a cancer to the team, funny how you never heard about that when they were 14-2 . But remember this is the same guy that risked his carrer by rehabing like a freek to play in the superbowl and he brought everything he had that game. So you know this guy is about winning

I just find it funny you'd waste you money and read something you admit to being fallacious. Seems like you're wasting your own time, but hey, more power to you.

Oh, but we did. Didn't you see TO arguing with McNabb on the sidelines in 2004? Maybe it was an act, maybe it was genuine. I don't know. But it was there.

I will always respect T.O for not holding out with the Eagles and for backing up his smack and then some before the Super Bowl. Besides that, I'm not a big fan.

Yeah, doing your job.

What a concept.

Who said the book contained any lies? So far nothing yet has been proven to be a lie in the book and Jon did not say he knew the book contained lies, all he said was he would read it whether it did or didn't. Let's not jump to conclusions on T.O.'s book yet. Of all the things he has been proven to be or accused of, to my knowledge, a liar is not one of them. Also, why is it a "waste" if he enjoys it? If Jon doesn't enjoy the same book as you do, should he find it funny you "wasted" your money and time on it?

People can bad mouth T.O. all they want but as you said, he clearly backs his talk up. While I don't condone being as cocky and brash as he is, if you are going to talk the talk like he does, you need to back it up and being prob the best WR in the game, he does back it up and then some. He was probably the best player in that SB and he did it on a leg and a half. When I think of TO, 2 Muhammad Ali quotes always come to mind: 1. It's not bragging if you can back it up and 2. When you are as great as I am it is hard to be humble.

I can't wait to see him back in the NFL going across the middle and throwing DB's around like rag dolls, running mad as hell down the field like a bull let loose.

He brought up lying, not me. "If true or not."

I also said "more power to you." I don't care what he reads. Quit trying to start an argument.

Quit trying to be on the defensive all the time. I NEVER accused T.O. of lying except to say if the book contains lies and he's reading it he MIGHT be wasting his time, BUT more power to him if he wants to read what would amount to a football version of the Enquirer.

Oh quit being such a baby. If anyone was starting an argument it was you with him, I just never got the concept of people telling others what is "wasting" their time or money when they do something for leisure and was curious why people do it. Yeah I know he said true or not but you immediately twisted that into him reading something that he "admit to being fallacious", meaning the book is full of lies (which would then infer T.O. would be writing lies, therefore a liar), go re-read your post if you have forgotten. But you're right that it's not my issue, but I was curious as to why some people refer to telling people what is a waste and what not. NOT A BIG DEAL.

I never insinuated T.O. was a liar or the book would be false. If you think that continue living in your delusions of granduer tower. I expressed MY opinion, that it is a waste of time IF he thinks it's all lies, that's it. And you're the one who got all offended and crybab-ish.

But, that's you in a nutshell.

This will be the last post for me on this. I wasn't going to but I just couldn't resist because what you said was so ridiculous.

His quote: Interesting to say the least. I would be interested to see what went on behind the scenes (whether true or not).

Your word-twisting quote: I just find it funny you'd waste you money and read something you admit to being fallacious. Seems like you're wasting your own time, but hey, more power to you.

Proof is right there, but hey, let's deny it some more because I am living in my "delusions of grandeur tower". I guess your quote does not show you twisting the words to infer lies in the book, or therefore T.O.'s dishonestly in writing it. I guess I am the crazy one.

By the way, nice responses. I guess the next one would be "and my dad can beat your dad up!".

I think this topic has been pretty well beat up, I'm done with it.

Clearly. SO DONE!

I never said he was a liar. He said it was possibly fallacious so I asked him why he would waste his money reading lies. A fair question. I mean, people read the Enquirer... But, I never-never-NEVER said T.O. was actually lying. Why do I care at all about T.O.? I don't. He's funny, on some levels. But other than that, I don't know anything about T.O. but what I read in the papers.

*cuts and pastes baby crying following all of your quotes. Ever*

Oh, you're done with this topic. FOREVER. But, then again I see you reading this already as I already add a LEGIT question...

Who's really going to write the book? Him, or is he telling the story to someone else? I'd read it if Woody Paige wrote it. Maybe.

TO is an interesting guy, but probably needs to be on some meds.

Stop being so sour. :lol

Im not sticking up for the guy but how do you know his story is going to be a lie and made up. For all any of us know the eagle team could have started everything and just kept telling the media that TO is the one to blame and beacuse of his history we all believe that. I personally think that he was the problem but you guys shouldnt trash his book and say it is a big lie if you dont know the real truth of what happend while he was in Philly
