Heat vs. Pistons

What did Ross say?

Thought you were talking to me.

It has nothing to do with the topic, and he wasn't talking to you so doesn't matter.

Watch that attitude, buster. I know where you live.

I guess it's a good thing that I judge a player (and a team) based on 60+ games, rather than just one on ESPN.

Don't judge by what you saw tonight. That's not fair to the people you are judging.

Probably is unfair. Still you have to execute in big games and making mental mistakes is inexcusable. Any other mistake is fine and you live with in these situations.

Ross basically said you need to dumb things down in order for me to understand.

Which is par for the course.

Ya they won't go anywhere with the execution they showed tonight, I'll agree. Something was obviously wrong with Wade though. He just looked out of it, and it might have been the exhaustion, I don't know.

Shaq is a huge part of this offense, but in the 4th quarter it's basically Wade's show. That's the problem---he's been so clutch this year that they don't know what to do when he isn't leading them.

and tonight was an example of some very uningelligent play by Wade.

If your wrist is hurting, you shouldnt be shooting, you need to find other ways to inflict damage or you just need to sit. Either/or is better than just jacking up brick after brick.

it's not exactly as if you'd expect to miss your shots on account of your wrist after hitting most of them the night before.

i woulda been pissed if he hadn't attempted those shots.

if he doesnt take them you have a better shot of winning the game tonight.

but its only one game, the heat have their 2 slot locked up pretty tightly anyway.

I'll tell you one thing. I almost never want to see Antoine Walker taking threes at the end of the game for us.

Well anyone wiht half a brain would tell you that.

:D

A. Walker is just not an overly intelligent player, I still say he is the reason why yall wont do anything special this year or any year you have him.

Maybe I'm an idiot for thinking this, but even with all that the Heat did wrong, they played 3 pretty good quarters in Detroit with a week's worth of jet-lag coming with them.

If the Eastern Conference finals comes down to Miami and Detroit, I think that Miami can hang, possibly even win...assuming all is well health wise.

Wade has been the best player on the team for 65 games. One bad game in the 4th game of a 5 night stretch doesn't change things.

And I'm not that deflated by the loss. We were obviously very tired and didn't have Zo, yet still kept it close. I'm encouraged with our prospects of winning if and when we play Detroit in the ECF.

alright, steve shapiro has said twice now that zo has 'torn' his calf muscle and is out 'indefinitely.'

shapiro sounds like he might have it wrong, but if he's right, zo would obviously be done for the season.

ya if he tore it he is done for the year.

that would be very bad news for the heat.

Torn calf muscles heal within 4-6 weeks, so he'll be back for the playoffs.

Miami Hearald and Pat Riley confirm

Miami Herald - According to the Miami Herald, Heat coach Pat Riley said after the team's loss to the Detroit Pistons that backup big man Alonzo Mourning had a torn calf muscle and that he would be out an indefinite amount of time.

'It's a tremendous loss to us, man,'' Udonis Haslem said of Mourning. ``He's one of the guys that we can count on every night, whether he's making shots or how much time he gets.''

Hopefully we give Earl Barron a shot at backup center. Wouldn't mind seeing what he can do.

What is everyone's problem with Doleac? Doleac is better than Barron, and is a good backup for Shaq.

Zo out only 2-4 weeks. Could be worse, he should be ready for the playoffs and hopefully in form by the ECF.
