April 17, 200620 yr Oh yeah, the east coast bias? Give me a break, if Jagr did not become the leader he has this year, the Rangers would be a much worse team. The Sharks were coming off a successful season with a lot more talent then the Rangers.
April 17, 200620 yr You can make a case for either. Either one is deserving. I bet the bruins arent very happy right now with their trade.
April 17, 200620 yr if you look at the sharks pre thornton & post thornton it is a huge difference - with a strike year and rule changes it's not genuine to point out what a team did last season - also look how thornton improved the play of guys like cheechoo (who is now leading the league in goals) and the PP both are deserving though
April 18, 200620 yr Both had great season, but (I may be a little biased) Jagr has been the best player in the NHL this year.
April 18, 200620 yr i haven't heard of either of them  these are the only NHL players i can name: ovechkin, crosby, roberto luongo, nathan horton, olli jokinen, gary roberts, wayne gretsky
April 19, 200620 yr Oh yeah, the east coast bias? Give me a break, if Jagr did not become the leader he has this year, the Rangers would be a much worse team. The Sharks were coming off a successful season with a lot more talent then the Rangers. the Sharks were one of the worst teams in the NHL at the time of the trade. Thornton turned them into a playoff team by himself - he made a 25-30 goal guy like Cheechoo into a 56 goal score - that's just ridiculous. The only reason i'd give Jagr the edge is the market he plays in. the Rag$ havent made the playoffs for 8 years and he had to carry that pressure on his shoulders and did. I can't stand Jagr - but you have to give him credit. He will probably win it, but you could make a solid argument for either.
