September 16, 200323 yr Pudge got off to a slow start at the start of the season(Even though he hit a HR on opening day.)...He was adjusting to the NL pitching. Yea thats true...i hope conine adjust before the playoffs too.
September 16, 200323 yr Yea thats true...i hope conine adjust before the playoffs too. No one got off to a slower start than D Lee but we are where we are now and let's hope both he and Pudge can keep playing at the level they are right now for at least the next month or so. Go Fish !

Go Fish ! Pudge got off to the slowest start. Sorry, but he did. I realize that you seldom let the facts get in the way of whatever fable you are weaving but I understand you can't help yourself. Your obsession with always being right is as unfortunate as it is childish. In fact, Pudge hit .301 for March/April while Lee batted .261 over the same period. Pudge had 19 rbi to Lee's 17 in 107 ABs vs. Pudge's 93. Both had four homeruns over the period.

September 16, 200323 yr Just wanted to let ya'll know, Lee has 83 RBI, Pudge has 81. Nevermind that being a catcher, Pudge sits out every 5th or 6th game.... Why does everything have to be a competition with some of you? :banghead
September 16, 200323 yr Isn't Pudge hitting like .490 with runners on scoring position, only second in the National League behind Pujols? :unsure :
September 16, 200323 yr it sure doesn't seem like Pudge is hitting so well with runners in scoring position. it seems to me like he hits numerous inning/rally ending double plays. But the stats don't lie! The only Marlin I don't like at all these days is Jeff Conine. Can that man make a contribution to this team?
September 16, 200323 yr When you boil it down though, because I don't Lee, the bottomline is what most fan about the two men is the fire Pudge displays and the aloofness of Lee. Perhaps its an unfair comparison. I don't know how you quantify it, but there is a shot of adrenilin, widely distributed, when Pudge does his thing. He's so into the game, he's so competitive, an incredible leader on the field, he everything you want in a ballplayer. I heard/read a wonderful story about Lee taking Dontrelle under his wing when he came up. You all probably know it, he took DW out and bought him three suits, reached into his own pocket and in doing so told the kid he was here to stay. I was very impressed by that. But somehow or another that side of him doesn't seem to translate when he's on the field. He so seldom shows emotion it almost scary. I like both of them. I don't like pitting one against the other. But for me, if I had to take one or the other, I'd take Pudge and never look back, confident I had made the right decision.
