again in teh first inning he has first and third and a good sign is that he took the first pitch but i sure hop that lazy flyout was off the end of the bat becuse i thought he hit it well

He flied out. It wasn't like he popped up. Not every AB he is going to get a hit.

Ok. I honestly don't want to send Jacobs down or bench him for Helms, but I'm really getting tired of him swinging at first pitches! When you're in a slump you need to be patient at the plate, make the pitcher throw a mistake and take advantage of it. He comes up with runners in scoring position all the time and swings at the first pitch like its nothing. If he learns to be more selective at the plate, he could truly do some damage.

Yeah but thats not good enough it doesnt cutt it 2 have a good AB and then has a 1 something average :thumbdown

At least he didn't swing of the first pitch in RBI opportunities tonight! His AB in the 9th was solid. Let's hope this is the beginning of him turning it around.
