Iran Threatens Israel if U.S. Attacks

TEHRAN, Iran - A top Iranian Revolutionary Guards commander said Tuesday that Israel would be Iran's first retaliatory target in response to any U.S. attack. "We have announced that whenever America does make any mischief, the first place we target will be Israel," the Iranian Student News Agency quoted Gen. Mohammad Ebrahim Dehghani as saying.

I still don't think they understand that they are far weaker than the holy land.

Israel can defend itself.

The IDF is well trained, and the IAF can do the job extremely well. If Israel feels like it is threatened it will attack Iran with no hesitation.

TEHRAN -- Iran warned Tuesday of a "crushing" response if its nuclear and military facilities are attacked by the United States or Israel.

 

Top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani said, however, talk of such an attack most likely is "psychological warfare."

 

"Iran has prepared itself...they will get a crushing response if they make such a mistake," Larijani said on Iranian television late Sunday.

 

Larijani said Israel would "suffer greatly" if it launched an attack.

 

"If there is any truth in such talks, Israel will suffer greatly. It's a very small country within our range."

 

Our (defense) preparedness is a deterrence," he said.

 

European news media have indicated in recent days the United States is preparing its allies for a strike against Iran's nuclear and military facilities with the aim of curtailing Iran's nuclear program.

 

Reports of a strike escalated after comments by Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who called Israel a "disgraceful blot" that should be "wiped off the map" and his call to relocate Israel to Europe or North America.

 

Israel fears Iran is reaching a point of no return in nuclear technology. Iran has openly said it has already achieved proficiency in cycle of nuclear fuel, a technology that can be used to produce fuel for reactors to generate electricity or materials for a bomb.

 

If were going to use military action the time is now.

Not to mention, due to international pressure, they've given 95% of that land back, minus Jerusalem and some surrounding areas. Should we make every country who's won land in war give it back?

Israel is the only country in the entire world to give its land back that it won in war. The Palestinians had more land originally. But they weren't satisfied that the Israelis got a desert and Tel-Aviv/Haifa. And now they bitch because Israel won back Jerusalem in a war. When no where in the Islamic scripture does it say anything about the Temple Mount being where Muhammed ascended.

the brits owned the land of palestine up until israel was created. even by 1940 jews made up about 1/3-1/2 of the palestine area population. the uk decided, with the un, to help decide the best way to deal with all the fighting and what not and they split up the land and that was that. then the war followed where israel won a lot of war.

 

its not like the un decided to use it jurisdiction over land they had no jurisdiction on, it was britain's land and i feel they were allowd to choose what to do with it.

 

also its not like the un stepped in said "here is land for jews" and jews poured in, they were already there.

i also don't see you complaining that jordan also fought for jerusalem. the two split the city for about two decades and then they fought the six-day war, which israel won and they won the entire city. in 1949 egypt, lebanon, syria and jordan GAVE israel half of jerusalem in the compromise to end that skirmish.

 

then israel fought and won the six-day war which they got all of jerusalem in 1967, which was started by egypt blockading israeli ships. thus they went to war because the same cast of characters were pressing on them again and this time they WON all of jerusalem.

 

i miss where they "stole" jerusalem, they won it. and they did not start the wars, either of them, it was the other 4 who were unhappy with a jewish/western state there.
