Pat Kennedy Driving Drunk, Coverup Took Place?

Featured Replies

Officers Claim Brass Interfered in Investigation of Rep. Kennedy Incident... Police labor union officials asked acting Chief Christopher McGaffin this afternoon to allow a Capitol Police officer to complete his investigation into an early-morning car crash involving Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI), son of Sen. Ted Kennedy.

According to a letter sent by Officer Greg Baird, acting chairman of the USCP FOP, the wreck took place at approximately 2:45 a.m. Thursday when Kennedy's car, operating with its running lights turned off, narrowly missed colliding with a Capitol Police cruiser and smashed into a security barricade at First and C streets Southeast.

I'm sure actual articles will be coming.

What a joke this guy is.

That's Patrick Kennedy, not Ted Kennedy.

Yeah, my internet connection farted out while I noticed my error.

I'll tell you one thing... Patrick Kennedy is probably the dumbest person alive. When I interned in Congress I saw him speak a few times and even chatted with the dude... not bright at all. Makes Dubya look like an intellectual.

Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my guns.

And the Iraq War has killed A LOT more people than Ted's car. :cool

A drunk kennedy?!

the hell you say...................

Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my guns.

And the Iraq War has killed A LOT more people than Ted's car. :cool

and Joe Kennedy's appeasement of Hitler helped kill more people than the Iraq War

Must run in the family.

I mean, the drinking.

And the crashing cars.

And the coverups.

Weren't you really upset with people for jumping to conclusions on the Duke rape incident?

I don't know how I can jump to conlcusions when a Police Report was filed by the officer at the scene stating that he was unsteady on his feet, had slurred speech, red and watery eyes, and was under the influence of alcohol after he crashed his vehicle. (Source)

I don't know how I can't 'jump' to that conclusion.

Pretty much has zero to do with this thread.

Ah yes, so a police officer checking a box without further physical proof means it is true. So the possibility that he took the medication he claims he took, or even perhaps might have had one drink which exacerbates the effects of that drug, must be ruled out by the checking of the box.

That must mean the Duke students are also guilty because the DA said they were guilty. Heck maybe he checked a box when he saw how deshevled and upset the victim was without doing physical tests.

I dont care if he gets in trouble for this and I dont like that they didnt allow a sobriety test. I think that reeks of impropriety. But you clearly have a double standard when it comes to finding people guilty via the media.

Wow, just a tad bit different circumstances.

When a police officer notes that some one who was driving in the other lane of traffic, speeding in a work zone, had no running lights on...and then when removed from the vehicle he showed three signs of being drunk does it for me. I'm not sure how someone cant come to the conclusion that he was drunk. I'm a fan of police reports don't know about you.

If he wasn't drunk, then what the hell was he doing that made him drive in different lanes, with no lights on, and at high speeds in a work zone? To me, if he wasn't drinking he must just be mentally handicapped because unless he was doing drugs, and he wasnt doing alcohol, that is the only thing it could have been.

The Duke case is incredibly more complex and a totally different situation then this, but good job trying to bring up something unrelated against me because of these revelations against a fellow liberal. I had reservations with that case and still do because of the lack of evidence, something like this where the police officer was at the crash site after it happened...speaks volumes.

What a joke for you to even compare the too.

To me, if he wasn't drinking he must just be mentally handicapped because unless he was doing drugs.

Here you go. This was his initial explanation:

Kennedy, son of Sen. Ted Kennedy, said Thursday he was apparently disoriented by prescription medication when he crashed his car into a barricade on Capitol Hill.

...because of these revelations against a fellow liberal.

There you go again. I knew the bullpen couldnt go a week without using the l-word. :lol

Did you not read what I said?

I dont care if he gets in trouble for this and I dont like that they didnt allow a sobriety test. I think that reeks of impropriety.

I guess the liberal in me forced me to say that.

Oh btw, he is checking himself into rehab...for drugs. Of course it could be any drug. Even prescription drug abuse. But I wont jump to any conclusions and say he is innocent. But it doesnt sound like alcohol.

But go ahead and ignore what I said above and ignore the fact that you jumped to conclusions by saying he was drinking and driving.

The Duke case is incredibly more complex and a totally different situation

Analogies are valuable. It's all about making final decisions without having all the facts before you. You called this guy a joke based on initial observations. They called the Duke players rapists based on a initial observations and a rape kit. Yet the former makes you a juror and the latter makes you fly off the handle at the injustice.
