Have they not even WATCHED these games? They just look at the box score which is incredibly deceiving.

The sad thing is that outside of the Marlins innercircle of people who actually watches the games and follows the team, everyone else just believes whatever is said on shows like BBTN.
May 7, 200620 yr I look at this as a positive thing. Hopefully other teams start to believe it so if the rumors ever came true and they were trying to trade him no one would offer enough for him.
May 7, 200620 yr This is almost a blessing in disguise. The worse he does this year, the lower his arby number. And this year is meaningless for the team (in terms of playoffs) anyway. We will need him next year, and having him cheaper will be great. Next year, Fish make their move.

May 7, 200620 yr Dontrelle is my favorite Marlin. Having said that I can also say that he just did not have it last night. If it weren't for the passed ball by Olivo and Miguel error, we probably would have won the game. That however does not excuse Will's poor outing. The hit parade by the Cards in the 5th was painful as is our season so far. Giardi should have pulled him before we got that far behind. At least Herges did well.

But lets not forget that we played the Cardinals last night not the Royals. Like I mentioned early on in the game thread last night, the Olivo passed ball would "come back to haunt us". I will however not be qutting my day job to go into the prognosticating business. Not really the defense's fault. No amount of statistical wizadry will convince me that the Train has not gotten F'd out of 1 or 2 victiories this year by circumstances beyond his control. When the time comes (soon I think) that Dontrelle is sent packing, the Marlins will be compensated nicely for him, with 3 or 4 top notch prospects. Don't listen to those morons. He left with the game tied in his only other one. Please don't put the remaining 2005 Marlins on a pedestal. Their crap stinks too. Maybe he's simply not an ace. Maybe he's simply not the ace that can go toe to toe with the best pitchers in the league. Maybe he's simply not the stopper who can break a losing streak. Maybe he's just a quality pitcher with a deceptive delivery and endearing attitude.

Im not denying that he completely bit the dog and screwed the pooch his last two outings but lets give the guy a few more starts before we crown him a flash in the pan.
