May 13, 200620 yr Since we are about 5 weeks away from the draft, who are the players you think the Marlins should be looking at ? It has seemed in the past the Marlins have loaded up on HS prospects -- do you think this year and next year they should go after more college players ? Should we look at more position or pitching or just draft the highest rated players in the draft ? (I have no stats on how we have drafted in the past but it just seems like more HS players than College kids). p.s. -- I didn't know if this the right forum so if the mods need to move it please do so.
May 13, 200620 yr If there is an outstanding starting pitcher in college available when we select in the first round, we should go for it. I am talking about someone that is close to major league ready, like Hansen last year.
May 13, 200620 yr At least going by what Baseball America is saying, its a lousy year for HS prospects in the first couple of rounds anyway. May 13, 200620 yr Frankly I wish that major league baseball had approved their plan to allow teams to trade draft picks. As unpopular as it will be here, with the bunch of guys working their way through our system right now I wouldn't mind trading this season's draft picks for some closer to major league ready ballplayers. And the same goes for next year's draft as well. (Getting out my fire retardent clothing in preparation for being flamed)
