ECW gets clearance on SCI-FI

Featured Replies

This is now reported everywhere, and I can't remember if I posted it in the now deceased Wrestling Forum. This is great news, and I'm sure there are a ton of jokes that could be made about wrestling on Sci-Fi. I guess there is a block of programming for this summer that is blank on Tuesdays at 10pm on Sci-Fi, so that's where the best guess as to what time/day ECW will end up.

On Sci-Fi? That makes no sense.

Yeah, i woulda thought Spike maybe or TNT or something else

Unlikely. TNA is on Spike and Time Warner doesn't like wrestling.

SCI FI is part of the Universa/GEl family of channels (along with USA and NBC), so it makes sense in that regard.

I don't have a problem with it being on Sci-Fi. ECW fans are going to watch regardless. Plus it starts in a few weeks on a Tuesday at 10 pm.

I'll be going to the ECW/WWE show the week prior to the show starting (June 7th is the date) at the Nutter center in Dayton. I can't wait. ECW is the best booked thing I've seen in awhile.

Once ECW is out, if they can keep this momentum up it'll be interesting to see the impact it has on wrestling, with potential to immediately jump TNA the wrestling world could go: 1. WWE 2. ECW 3. TNA in terms of shows.

All I care about is getting back Rhino. Not because he's great, but they cant have true closure without the last guy to hold their world and tv championships.

Maybe TNA lets him go for one night to lose the titles in a triple threat match a'la Angle/Benoit/Jericho at WM 2000?

Well, TNA would be pretty stupid to do that... So, I doubt it.

Potentially, if ECW takes off I could see Rhyno making a return (after his contract is let up in TNA). Then they could do the storyline you propose, with him complaining about being the champ, but we don't even know how they're going to do titles yet.

ECW will only be good if Vince keeps his damn nose out of it and let's Paul Heyman have complete control of everything to do with the creative aspect. And personnally, I don't think Vince can keep his nose out of it and he'll ruin it just like he's doing with RAW & Smackdown.

One fot eh last times I saw Wrestling, I remember WWE and Smack down made like a big campaign to make it seem like they were going to bring this back. I lost interest in wrestling now, it's just not as exciting as it used to be. I keep forgetting when it's on :confused

ECW segments have been awesome.

I'm just going to enjoy them than infer some future consequence which may or may not happen.

The Joey Styles segment was awesome.

Fixed.

In all seriousness, I think this ONS will be really good as long as they keep all WWE guys out of it. I really liked last years ONS, but the WWE guys really brought it down (I'm refering to RAW & Smackdown invading, not Jericho and Benoit and what not). I will be ordering ONS this year, but when ECW makes it's return, I just have that feeling Vince will f*** it up.

Foley and Funk was AWESOME. Both from a promotional standpoint and from the standpoint that it didn't seem scripted at all. I hated as soon as Funk walked out and now I don't even care. This fued is awesome. Joey Styles promo has been the second best thing of the whole storyline, in my opinion. ECW has found a way to steal the show every week on RAW, not that--that's hard, but it's still heads and tails been better than anything else on that show.

I'm willing to give it a chance. TNA however, will never get another cent or waste another minute of my team. It's turning into WCW (hoorah Scott Steiner).

I can't WAIT for one night stand.

Ok, I'm willing to admit I didn't even bother watching RAW last week, but in all fairness, the Joey Styles promo was the only thing good thing RAW has had in months up to that point.

TNA is hardly turning into WCW. Yeah, they got Scott Steiner, but you know, what, it's bringing in a lot of older fans who have no idea who or what TNA is. Also, they haven't over used Scott Steiner or shoved him down our throats either. I didn't like Steiner being brought in either, but you know what, they haven't used him in a way that it's really caused a problem, so it doesn't bother me anymore.

Oh, and before I go, at least TNA has matches. Do you realize that in the 45 minutes of airtime they get, they have more in ring action than RAW?

So what?

I could care less about TNA's superstars aside from Christian. That Samoa Joe guy is good, other than that it's *YAWN*.

You like it; I hate it. It's all good.

All of the ECW segments, so far, have been the best segments on RAW. I'm sure if you looked really hard you could find the Foley/Funk stuff on wwe.com or youtube, it's worth watching.

what ever happened to the other Steiner? Ric Steiner was it? Dog-faced gremlin?

The Steiner Brothers, that tag-team pwned.

/old

He sucks.

And is big in Japan. R. Steiner is in and out of Japanese pro wrestling and I think he might have shown up on TNA from time to time, early on; but I could be wrong on the second front.

yeah he never really could wrestle really, just ran around the ring barking like a dog. :lol

He just got old and pretty much all he can do now is bark.

Steiners are probably ONE OF if not the best tag team(s) of all time.

Alright, that segment was pretty good. I still think the Joey Styles one was better, though. And while I think Foley teaming with Edge is stupid as hell, the whole anti ECW thing works well for him considering his WCW gimmic during his early days in ECW.

It still blows my mind that Scott went from this

to this.

I'd like to see him surprise me and pull of a Frankensteiner again. :lol

Rick Steiner showed up in TNA a few weeks ago (along with Luger, both friends of Sting) but I think it was just a one-shot deal.
